port in POP is government, port in maimon will be private. both mean non-public. it has been explained to you before that all ports in the country are under the ruling of marina de guerra.

Any chance RC will move to the dock Carnival is making in POP? Its not uncommon to see Princess, Carnival, Royal Caribbean at the same dock.

Carnival will make the port open to other ships, provided there is space and they pay the appropriate fees. They have this arrangement already in other ports around the Caribbean.

just came back from samana today. stunning views as always but is it only me or is the city dirtier than ever? trash everywhere. contrast with las terrenas we visited later that day. seemed so lively, clean and well organized.
