Lindita.....I think you have a lot of hang-ups and an inferiority comlpex.Instead of introducing yourself like most newcomers do you begin by preaching to us why we should like you...your people are not that ugly..blah blah blah. You knew your thread would create a little redicule toward you so it seems you came looking for some abuse and you got it...now do us a favor and go away. You are getting annoying.

I Love DR is right.

For the length of time that I've been reading this board, I have learned to separate the clear thinking, decent and civilized posters apart from the trashy, loud mouth idiots. If you stick around long enough, you too will acquire this skill.

You are absolutely correct when you mentioned that the town of jeremie was once a dominican prostitutes haven. My father was an official in the Duvalier regime, and he told me that he was part of the committe that had direct order from the president to organize the escort party that deported the underage girls out of the country, only because of international pressure of course.

Like you, I defend my domincan spouse and daughter from Haitian bashers, as vigorously as I defend my Hatian comrades from ill will Dominicans. To be quite honest I have found the level of both parties hatred and ignorance to be at an equilibrium.

Toujou campe ferme cheri. You bad girl. :rambo:

JWB...from your last paragraph.."ignorance"...why do you claim some postsers are ignorant?Excuse me but why does it seem to me that whenever black people(American Blacks are even quicker to do it)feel someone speaking out toward them for whatever reason they immediately lash out at the accuser as being ...."IGNORANT"!??? Lindita was on the offensive here from the get go..oh..thats right..we were supposed to reply with .."Oh Lindita..you are right..we are soo sorry..we are wrong...you are prettier and smarter than dominicanas and we love you more"....thats the way you have to do it in the USA when a person of color complains or if you dont...you are an "ignorant racist".....JWB and Lindita..stop looking for praise or sympathy..and when people disagree with you(we are human beings with opinions)do not immediately accuse us of being ignorant...it is weak.

Weird thread, IMO. Invectives, highly charged verbage, puns and diatribes.
Lindita, oftentimes we like to have fun with new posters, especially a self-assured young woman such as yourself. Just a few guidelines, if you will permit this hillbilly, the old curmudegeon of this BB to assist you a wee bit.
Just use one language, it is safer. Generally speaking, we prefer English. If something must be said in another language, for emphasis perhaps, you might use a quick translation to help the other folks.
Feminism is barely tolerated on the board by a few of our posters, and it is championed by several others. Take anything posted with lots of salt. It seems that self deprecation is tolerated much more than narcisistic self enhancement. Let time work it's magic. Most of the posters have many years of experience in the Dominican Republic. Some are knowledgeable about the Republic of Haiti. There are some folks that have a serious problem with the Haitian migration into the Dominican Republic. That is fine. There are people in the USA that don't like Mexicans walking over the border, either. Happens.
Learn to relax....if you can contribute to our fund of knowledge, by all means, please do so, and it will be well received, I am sure.

Cordially

I love DR

I am not looking for praise or sympathy from anyone, I am a well grounded person. If anything I merely provided support for the parts of linda's argument that were true and made sense.

You stated in your posts that " it seem to me that whenever black people(American Blacks are even quicker to do it)feel someone speaking out toward them for whatever reason they immediately lash out at the accuser as being ...."IGNORANT"!??? " "
Excuse me sir, but that statement itself is .................. :speechles forget it.

Enjoy your presidente :( .

Since you mentioned that some people, right or wrong oppose Haitian inmigration to DR, I for one wish to clarify that I oppose globalization of inmigration of any kind.

I believe that other than student exchange and highly skilled inmigration, all countries should be very strict with accepting people from other countries unless they are able to substantially contribute to their economy, education and social life.

Blue collar foreign workers can never help any country, unless you are Kuwait, where everyone is so rich nobody wants to do the dirty work at the oil fields.

Dominicans for instance who have moved to the USA to work as laborers have only harmed the US economy, in my opinion ,and are causing a social problem in the ghettos. I support a strong policy with Dominican inmigration, including inmediate deportation to illegals. I also support US deportation of Dominican criminals to their native land. It is our responsibility to help screen the people we allow to travel.

I agree with you. I remember on one of my trips I spent
most of the night dancing with a beautiful Haitian young
lady at Guacara Taina. The ironic thing to me was that
I wanted to speak in Spanish, and she wanted to speak
in English. She was a student just visiting from Port au
Prince. I do find some Dominican in denial of their roots.
It is unfortunate, but not unlike the situation in
some other countries.

Golo,

She was not an exchange student. As a matter of fact she
was going back to Port au Prince the next day.
BTW, no sexual contact between Elizabeth and I occured,
although my wife's niece, una Dominicana, said i should
have pursued it. lol!

Wow, It took me about two hours to read this whole thread from start to finish thus far! (OK - maybe not 2 hrs, but this is looooong).

Anyhow, I forgot what it was all about - lol. Kidding! Actually, no I'm not kidding. I forgot who posted what, when, and where (if you catch my drift).

All I can say is that all nations have there babes (males and females) and blahs.

"Can't we all just get along....?" - Remember that saying....?
