When I was in Santiago a couple of weeks ago I remarked to my Haitian friend that the women selling things on the street of Calle Del Sol don't seem phased by Migracion. He told me that Migracion doesn't go for the women.

Insulting is anything that doesn't fit their model. No one likes their baby called ugly. This never used to be an issue on DR1. The truth is now insulting. A differing opinion is now insulting. No productive debate or dialogue can be achieved under those circumstances.I didn't say anything insulting to her. She can believe it if she wants to. I choose not to.
Yeah, but they like to have that house built you know, 150 blocks every 6 months, and a used Montero sport before the grand homecoming. This way they can look down upon their fellow countrymen when they return, satisfied that they have made it in life while the rest were sucked up by a miserable campo life riddled with a steady diet of plantains and incest. Most have the plan of returning some day anyways so it just might be expedited.
Touching on your own post #82, there is nothing productive about your dialogue here...Yeah, but they like to have that house built you know, 150 blocks every 6 months, and a used Montero sport before the grand homecoming. That's a good point. Some may think that way. They had a good run. Are done anyway. Now they get a free flight back home. Most have the plan of returning some day anyways so it just might be expedited.
As a matter of interest, why do you say that? If it's because it's a money maker for the authorities involved, then I agree. The great DR Haitian deportation operation is one of the biggest scams perpetrated on the Dominican people in the history of man
Agreed, Dominicans exaggerate a lot, and chismoso is very popular. This person sounds like your typical "victim" to me. The bus driver may well have not allowed the kid to board the bus, but no rational person is just going to pick up and leave solely because of what a bus driver did on one day. There's more to the story than this.
If you had taken me up on those HH beers at your favorite Mojito, we could have discussed this. Now unfortunately my health has degraded and a visit to that rat infestation may actually kill meAs a matter of interest, why do you say that? I simply replied to your post, politely requesting more clarification. If you had taken me up on those HH beers at your favorite Mojito, we could have discussed this. Now unfortunately my health has degraded and a visit to that rat infestation may actually kill me
I made the declaration that the great DR Haitian deportation was/is one of the greatest scams perpetrated on the Dominican people in the history of man. So, to clarify, there is no such massive operation. It is all theater. Idk but one literally must be asleep not to realize there are more Haitians than ever in DR. The wealthy cabal that runs the Dominican are embarrassed and would rather choose to ignore the Hatitans, however the government understands that the Haitians are in demand by the mafioso business owners of sectors such as farming and construction. They help keep operating costs down. They still align with price gouging and kickbacks so the low operating costs don’t get passed to the end consumer. This was never a goal anyway. That said, whatever deportation drama observed in Sosua, Cab etc, including the blue paddy wagons parked in front of the cuartel, is just part of the theatrics. Now, if you’ve been sleeping through all of this, it won’t matter either way.I simply replied to your post, politely requesting more clarification.
I don't know why you continue to make things up about me. The Mojito bar in Cabarete is not my favourite, as I have replied to you before, in fact I think I have been there once in the last year, despite going to bars/restaurants on the beach nearly every day. But that's not because I believe it to be rat-infested.
I'm not very keen on the idea of meeting you for a beer there or anywhere else, but you have never actually given me an invitation.
Sorry, all, I know that this has nothing to do with the thread's subject, but I had to respond to this strange post by the Hijo de Mangu, but will say no more.
Get well soon, H de M.
I am sure those building condos and villas do that all the time.I wonder if anyone has ever sat down and tried to calculate what the approximate difference in labor costs would be between using Dominicans vs. Haitians.
This is not the issue at all. Good Haitian Workers are not cheap at all. The issue is bigger. Hard to find any Dominican that wants to do this kind of Work,I wonder if anyone has ever sat down and tried to calculate what the approximate difference in labor costs would be between using Dominicans vs. Haitians.
More like hard to find any Dominican that will do said work for a slave wage. Theres a reason why Dominicans who migrate to PR and the US DO work construction. This is not the issue at all. Hijo you know better than that. There is a way to get your point across without being rude/insulting. Just because you do not agree with someone there is no reason for snide comments. Again, you know better than this so do not stir the pot.Insulting is anything that doesn't fit their model. No one likes their baby called ugly. This never used to be an issue on DR1. Slave wage ???? Obviously you have no Clue what you are talking about. A regular Construction Worker (Haitian) makes at least 2,000 Peso a Day and a Professional Bricklayer etc up to 6,000 per Day. (all this numbers are in Santo Domingo). just to give you some more info about so called "Slave Labor". The kids that bag your grocery's in the supermarket makes between 1,500-2,000 RD$ per Day. A window cleaner at the traffic light around the same.More like hard to find any Dominican that will do said work for a slave wage. It’s like Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: “Yes M’am, No Sir…!”Hijo you know better than that. There is a way to get your point across without being rude/insulting. Yes, Haitians are the top 1% of skilled labor! Let get these savvy motivated professionals into an H1b program. Call Rob, he has a database of STEM graduates also.Slave wage ???? I bet some are happy to go home. Home sweet home in the Barrio or campo. Mami, abuela or tía Clara cooks up a Nice big sancocho.Guys, we’re wandering off course again. This is the Dominicans Abroad forum, and we’re discussing illegal Dominicans in USA.
