Nobody can predict earthquakes with certainty. It is not something I worry about.

I remember this one well, certainly the strongest I've felt since living here, even stronger than the really bad one I felt from Haiti 11 years ago. The one last night woke me, but I went straight back to sleep. I haven't heard reports of any serious damage or loss of life, so I hope that is the case.

and had at least 52 aftershocks of 4.5 or greater

The epicenter was near the town of Léogâne, Ouest department, approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. I was sitting in an outdoor rocking chair, and boy did it rock. South coast in western San Cristobal province. A moment I won’t forget.

At 12;37 there was4.7 magnitude earthquake with epicenter in the southern area of Montecristi, northeast of Manzanillo, and west of Palo Verde, which was felt throughout the Northwest Line and all of Cibao. Thanks to Danny for posting this.
