Electric Cars in the DR

LOL! You could use up the whole battery running the A/C in a traffic jam.

Somebody in the comments wrote it costs $22K and that puts it in the "Luxury car" range most people cannot afford.

Price of electric vehicles is going to dramatically reduce demand for some time to come. Places that are trying to legislate ICE cars out of existence will most likely have to relent and allow them for years to come.

Shortages of rare earth elements, lithium, and the high costs to make them are going to dramatically reduce their use.

Needless to say the power grid in the DR will have no way to charge cars in cities for many years to come.

There is legislation being sponsored to have EV's emit some sort of sound (EV's are notoriously quiet) so that those who are visually impaired partially and totally, or those people riding bicycles or walking, jogging and crossing streets can be given warning that a vehicle is approaching.

It is currently mandatory in the EU…..and coming soon to the US…..and eventually the DR, either legislated or as imported used EV’s from the US.

I guess it depends on how you define EV revolution. There are currently several thousand EV's in the DR and the number is growing annually.

As to used EV batteries for sale in Villa Juana or anywhere in the DR for that matter, EV batteries last for 8-10 years and longer, so the only ones you may ever see are those at the end of their useful life and certainly not saleable................but are recyclable.

You don't have much to worry about living on the North Coast. Price points are too expensive, terrible warranties and too many unforeseen problems for the near future. Also, there are no certified class A mechanics nonetheless a mechanic for and EV.

The following is not a Dimensions e-bike, but gives an idea how they ride. They seem a lighter version of a motorcycle.

there are two things I quite don't understand about electric cars first here in Punta Cana they're building their charging station and to supply the charging station with electric cepm burns diesel fuel so how was that helping the environment. Also I don't like the fact of your car that it takes 4 hours to charge your car full...
I have driven a Tesla car is super quiet and Superfast I like it charging it for me doesn't make sense and what happens if you run out of electric do they bring you a can of electricity
