Just like Mexico with it's draconian guy laws the gun laws in the DR do not stop criminals from getting guns or using them to commit crimes. You should keep working on your critical thinking skills. The enemy lives inside the borders of the country in most cases. Protection from the tyranny of government.
Waiting for a well thought out response. Guess I will be waiting a long time. Also all guns deaths in the DR are carried out by people have no license or proper ownership of their weapon, other than the police. Criminal culture and untreated mental illness are the issues not guns. If there were no guns they would use knives, explosives, poison, cars....etc. I am knowledgeable, very. Enlightenment to you means agreeing with you.
You know that the DR has legislation to restrict and reduce gun ownership.

In Brazil 49,437 Gun related deaths.
In the US 37,040
In Mexico 22,118
In the Dom Rep 1,526
Canada 875
In Japan 101

Do you think that there is more criminal culture and untreated mental illness in the countries with very high gun deaths?
Or could government legislation be the result of very few gun deaths.

I know you refer to legislation and rules as
the tyranny of government.

Are rules of conduct in your school tyranny of school administrators?
Or do we actually need some rules and laws for social conduct?

Yes Bob,
In liue of guns they may even resort to tactical nuclear weapons.

You are not in any danger of being enlightened, no necessity of agreeing with me.
Thanks for gracing us with your well thought out response.

Is that what is taught as logic and facts at your school?
Touchy feely who needs facts.
Do you have armed teachers to protect the children at your school from

You claim to know something about living in US-CAN.
Look at the obvious differences, use your critical analytical skills and hopefully pass logic and facts on to your students........not unsubstantiated feelings.

Yes Mexican mind set, drug cartels, corruption and pozoleros are the problem, (https://wearemitu.com/wearemitu/news/el-pozolero-dissolved-more-than-300-bodies-in-acid/)
Just as US gun culture.

All these components are exactly what the DR does not need to further.
The enemy does indeed live within, often due to cultural acceptance.
Facts show which countries and systems work better than others.
Repeating less than intelligent slogans and hyperbole

Don't make them facts and do not serve to make you look knowledgeable.

Yet,
Having read many of your opinions not based on logic or facts,
I have not expected enlightenment from you po-ed dr1 Bob.
You sure sound like former poster now permanently banned D'arcy. I have around 35,000 relatives in Canada and the USA, Most are gun owners. I dont any of them that have used a gun in the commission of a crime. I know a few have used a gun to prevent a crime. I have no issues with proper background checks, waiting periods, mental health verification, training courses before issuing a gun permit. There are already most of those in place.

Why Bob? Because you meet resistance to your "model"?? This is a discussion board. You've been banned at least 100 times in your 47 years on this site. You can't always be right, and the members that don't fit your model don't have to be bad folks or require the need for vernacular cursing like Maria does. You have 35,000 relatives in Canada? Wtw?? 😂

Yep we multiply like rabbits. Huge families, and I said in two countries. What are you babbling about? Hmmm 37 went to 47, when actually it's 25. You are conflictive. Forget to swallow your protein today?

If only 27% of all the motorcycles in the entire country are legally registered, just how many pistols out there do you think are legally registered.
It is easier to fire an unregistered pistol than to pull the trigger on a registered gun. Less paperwork and no trace.
Only a law abiding citizen register guns. Criminals,...not so much.

Problems ???

Please elaborate
owning a gun makes you the target also you have a better chance of getting shot by the police and God forbid you ever shoot anyone you will definitely go to jail even if you are totally innocent I wouldn't do it not here .also every time you get stopped by police and they see the gun you have a problem most likely your going to jail
.it's just my opinion from living here for many years but you do what you want I wish you luck whatever you decide to do

Owning a legally licensed gun in the DR SAVED my life 19 years ago. To each his own. And there are people on this board that know what I am talking about............

Am gonna transform your sarcasm and negativity into a positive / informative post ;

Here it’s a piece of security information y’all might found interesting….according to my AMET friend DID y’all know that 50% of all “colmado delivery boys” who are over the age of 21 are usually EX-CONs , usually that’s the only job they can get without A BUENA CONDUCTA letter…think about it ? WHO wants to be a delivery boy at the age of 35 ?

I know I know I know my friend he is just an AMET official but I can guarantee he knows more about DR streets than us.

Mr. bob You got too much faith in people …remember rule número #1 = DO NOT TRUST ANYONE while living on a third world country
Rey, why would it only be in a third world country. Sorry, I have been living in the DR for a very long time. I never had that attitude at all. I am very conscious of my "social circle" and use common sense. Your "rule numero #1" is not a true reflection of living in the DR. Maybe you base your opinion on the people you are surrounded by...

I would say - yes trust them only if you know where they live, have known them 6 months or more and never ever lend anyone money.
Regardless if they are your friend - becuase you will lose the money and the friend.
Just say "I don't lend money", or "I don't have it to lend"
