Signtalkerjo - I am willing to negotiate with all interested parties.....LOL

For everyone - I have been in Playa Dorada the last 3 weeks (I live in Puerto Plata) I've not heard of any "outbreaks" at any hotel in the complex. In fact I've not heard of anything substantial anywhere near here.

Right now we have perfect weather, the hotels are not full (but soon should be) and things are working well.

We have a number of live concerts coming up on the north coast. Anyone who wants details or wants to go - contact me by email or PM.....

Hi,
Im currently on my last day here at Holiday Village and im on the big plane home tommorrow!
Myself and my partner have had a brilliant 2 weeks! The weather has been boiling, thats why i am now in the air conditioned royal suite reception writing this!!
I also read the reports before i came out and contemplated changing hotels as we were both a little worried. As it turned out we had nothing to worry about - the place and people are lovely!
We are in the royal suites in a deluxe room which i would definately recommend if you are a couple, if u havent booked one - change it! as the adult only pool is beautiful and the barman migual is funny - the other pools are just packed all the time where as the adult pool at the most there are only 20 people!
Also you can have ur breakfast in the royal suites dining room which is v posh and a funny happy lady cooks whatever you like fresh every morning!!
As for the food you can always find something you like on the buffet, there is always chips, rice, pasta and different carved meats as well as salads etc. The al a carte restaurants are nice tho, esp the italian which was our favourite, we tried them all (twice!) and like them all!
The staff here cannot do enough for you, constantly fill up your drink and say hola whenever you pass them in the complex!
This place is perfect for families with kids definately - thats what its geared to but being in the royal suites has made our holiday and we have had a brilliant time!! One last thing - All adults just go to the Aquanox bar and stay there all night, the singer welsh Steve is a laugh and very good as well!
I know i have gone on a bit but if anyone wants to ask me anything feel free!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!
Laura x

Hi, i have just flicked through the most recent reviews on trip advisor. As we were in the royla suites section i never sat by the wave pool and only ate in the buffet about 3 times. The people on there are families who stayed in the other part of the complex. I can only comment on what i experienced which was spotless rooms, no smells etc, even towels with flowers on and swan shaped! The braekfast was amazing - whatever you wanted cooked fresh and the dealings i had with the rep (only to prebook seats for the way home) he was really nice. we were chatting to a rep - a yorkshire lad who seems spot on, he said yes there have been teething problems but and probs let them know asap and they will do their best.
The hotel is full to bursting and with nearly 300 rooms, with at least 2 people in each really the proprtion who have experienced problems its not bad i wouldnt think. As i said i can only comment on my holiday but from the other couples we have spoken to i do not know of anyone who had any probs- only that they couldnt change the volume on the TV! No illness, smelliness etc!
Please msg me if u have any questions u want me to anser - anything! as if there is anything i can say to stop u worrying i will!
In my opinion i wouldnt be telling everyone to cancell their booking but upgrading may be an option, it only cost us approx 130ponds for the fortnight - well worth it!

Thanks Laura

Thanks Laura for your review!

We have upgraded to royal suites it cost us abit more than you payed but it does seem worth the money.
My only problem is we will be using the other parts of the complex aswell & it seems most problems are happening there which isnt really fair on the famillies that will be staying there and other guests that have upgraded but still want the other facillities!

I go at the end of September and im not nervous about going because of the bad reports but i really really hope there wont be any!

Concerts:

Sorry Brijohn - there were none while you were here - but if you had contacted me the first week........... you might have gone to one....LOL Next time honey...

For anyone else who wants to go see live music - there are almost always live concerts somewhere in the area. They tend to be on Friday / Saturday or Sunday. WE rarely have a lot of advance notice though so pre planning doesn't happen more then 3 or 4 days in advance....

If you want to go to a concert when you are here just let me know! Send me an email or PM and we can make arrangements when you are here. Please note that in almost all cases you will all have to be legal age as they are in clubs. I am happy to take you or make arrangements for your groups!

It is a really interesting experience to go to a concert or a club! And yes it is safe if you use your head!

Here at mo!!

Right,

Been here 24 hours now and can't find any faults (so far)....
Went to get my beds at 5:30 am and found they were all available....Went back at 6:30...still all available......Went at 8 am and 4 had been taken (Wave pool area)..So put my towels on and went for Breakfast!!! Omlettes were V.Nice..Smoothies (choice your fruit)(wife loved this), Bacon a bit crispy (but better than most european hotels! they do fried ham which is delicious) Had beans, sausages, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, waffle station fruits section, bread area, drinks area etc etc...One man constantly walking round with coffee and tea!! Perfect really!!
We are in the royal Suites but our friends arn't so haven't used these facilities yet..(no real need!!) Our friends have booked 3 of the a la carte restaurants (just go to reception before 10am and say what days you want to go for that week) So have no idea what was going on here before?
I've not fallen over near any pools yet so i guess i'm lucky??
Staff very pleasant and no queues at the bar last night (well 2 people in fron t of me at one stage!!) (4 staff on main bar!!)
I'll keep you posted on what happens over the next 13 days but so far so good.... Loving it!!!!!!
Cheers
