He is exhausted already:
President Danilo Medina will speak to the Dominican people tonight Sunday at 8:00 p.m., according to an announcement by the Presidency spokesman, Roberto Rodríguez Marchena.
After several weeks of pressure from the business sector and the warning from merchants that they will open their businesses next Tuesday if they are not authorized to do so by decree, Medina could make new provisions to that effect public.
This was noted by Marchena in a message on his Twitter account in which he said that the president’s address will occur “after having exhausted an intense day of consultations with business, union and religious leaders in attendance to the measures that allow reconciling health and population economy.
Marchena’s entire tweet from yesterday reads:
The curfew specifically said 5 pm to 6 am...so it has officially ended but the state of emergency still stands with all the closings still in effect. It simply means we can move freely after 5 pm. Still nowhere to go , nothing to see, nothing to eat or drink
With businesses already stating they will open on Tuesday, that could change soon. We will see how much of a fight there will be after the president speaks tonight.

Sounds like he's caving. No one seems to care anyway. The only reason the delinquents put on a mask because now it's a tiguere fashion trend. The kiters and surfers certainly don't care as they think THC and the ocean cures anything, broah.
I am only one person with one opinion.... but from what I have read and experienced over the past 5 months; I shall leave my isolation for essential purposes only. CV-19 is not going to go away simply because the curfew is terminated..... Until such time as a proven vaccine is developed and the population is vaccinated there is still high risk of infection.
I do not need the President to tell me that I can or cannot resume life as normal....there is no normal anymore... not until that vaccine is in place.
Older folk like me with several compromising medical issues use what is known as ''Common sense'' attitudes toward protecting our lives and that of our loved ones .
We do not see the hidden agendas, the conspiracies,and do not believe that a Totalitarian Government control is in the making, I have not experienced the mass hysteria that was predicted by the doom and gloom prophets , Just common sense precautions that have allowed me to survive thus far.
Opening the economy and removing the curfew simply means that we are testing how thick the ice is..... is it safe for walking upon?
A second wave of CV-19 is just as possible as was the first wave.... stepping out carefully, wear the masks, be cautious of social distancing , being selective of any social gatherings , and stay away from Political,Religious, or Social rallies just may save your life and mine.
Like I have stated before ''assume nothing'', ''Plan for the worse and hope for the best''....
Indeed the DR is a Developing Country , as will most of the Countries in the world once the full impact of CV-19 has had its say in the global social and economic recovery.

the curfew runs til Sunday/Today May 17th, so it starts today 5PM as usual and end's tomorrow/monday moning 6AM,
IF not extended thsi evening til JUne 1st, which very likely will be the case.
a slight modifcation, to run it 7PM-6AM, would be apppropriate, make daytime lines at businesses a bit shorter.

I don't need a curfew to make me stay home. I like staying home. the curfew changed nothing in how I live. all the closings however , did
let's se this eevning,
how many dumbazzes will fly their Comets at 7:30PM,
so by 8PM we will have again to wait for hours to hear the Boss,
because most of the country will be without electricity again starting 7:45PM, lol.
