The Governor of NY ordered all US and NY state flags in NY (not just NYC) to fly half staff due to the Jet Set tragedy.

The police are taking respect over this event seriously thre is a colmado on my Street that has stools and small tables. They have a regular crowd and play music. Last night there was a smaller than usual crowd and you could barely hear the music. The police came and shut them down. Put a yellow tape around the premises and told them they are shut down till Monday nite..

Although I expected the same level of respect here in Santiago this is not the case. Today (Sunday) marks the 1st day of Semana Santa and deaths or no deaths the show must go on. Neighborhood places are packed, the streets are full, the music is playing and the drinks are flowing. Welcome To Wonderland!

Talked to family and they said it is fairly quiet. Maybe due to today is El Domingo de Ramos (Palm Sunday) or that the local area lost 3 people in the Jet Set tragedy. There were some activities planned but they were cancelled.

It’s one thing if people were festive the first few days after the tragedy, but it’s almost a week after that. Can’t expect the entire population to fall in some sort of depression due to this. At this point, whomever wants to be serene and whomever wants to be festive is their perojative with nothing mean meant by that.

The previous post shows an order basically not to allow loud music at the beaches. Notice it says nothing about rivers.

That's not the point. I am referring to that long concrete slab. My question, where that came from because the 3 layer picture doesn't match that where is the metal bar rots that goes in middle. That is my question.

These slabs look like the support beams of the roof, what you see is the underside when they are rotated 90degrees vertically . Notice the added mounting points with steel wire to probably hang lighting trusses. Thats my take.

News said that Rubby Perez's daughter will plan an file lawsuit against Jet Set owner for failing to keep the building secure from 2023 fire plus others. The invesgation begins and they will start focus on 'Roof' so this will be a long journey, for sure.

The investigation is one thing, but, imagine the time it will take for the lawsuits to work their way through the DR courts. I’m guessing years and in the end, some judge could decree them void based on some obscure legal reasons.

This is certainly going to be interesting from a legal perspective. The disaster is historic and the resulting litigation could make legal history depending on who is or isn’t liable.
