The talk of lawsuits versus the town of Sosua is amusing. I expect no such lawsuits.

If someone does want to start a lawsuit the only winners would be the lawyers.

I don't think anyone on the city council expected the bars to move.
I think they expected exactly what just took place.

They prolly tried to do shenanigans the last year, payoffs, etc., and most likely didn't work.

Not to mention it is an election year and politicos want to show they're "cleaning up" For The People™.

I only met Frank one time but I have read his posts.
Accusing anyone of "being a swindler and doing business in bad faith" is totally out of his character.

well, chico bill still has the opportunity to furnish the readership with evidence that frank 12 really called Big Frank a swindler. i am sure that particular post, if it exists, will still be available.

that is a pretty strong accusation, chico bill. time to do your manly duty and pony up the evidence..

Use of "whore mongers" is far below your usual postings.
You have a horse in this race?

I have used the words "whore mongers" more than I can count on DR1. You just weren't paying attention.

As for the race, not a single horse is mine. I am just watching the clown show.

guess they better get busy closing the countless cabanas, 40 dollar a night hotel rooms, 450 dollar a month concrete apartments and my personal fav, the convenience of empty lots on every block so people can throw their trash and broken appliances. Hey those 40 thousand dollar U.S condos are probably going to be worth a million by the end of next year

What is happening in Sosua has zero to do with those other businesses or locations. Not one thing. It has to do with Sosua and what the Attorney General and Mayor have agreed is a problem in Sosua. Nothing more.

Yes it has always been quite something that such a small part of Sosua has had such a focus. Time will tell what happens next. I certainly have no idea. The whore mongers will say everyone in Sosua will now be forced to starve. And what will "Mr. T" say about this?

I never had an opinion of "Mr. T" before. Now with his posting of his foolish YouTube video about some of the changes going on in Sosua and some of the interviews contained therein I have a strong opinion.

There is an old saying that originates from the bible:
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt."

Mr. T would be better served giving travel advice and not getting involved in what he clearly doesn't know.

Totally, 100% incorrect.

Legal adult-oriented businesses are routinely zoned out of areas all over the Fruited Plain.[/QUOTE

There is no fruited plain in the DR, it is a description of the United States.

What goes on in a US court room is a far cry from Dominican justice.
Your attachment to 100% certainty is unsurprising.

Neither of us know the final outcome of this dispute.

The difference between us is that you are 100% confident of your correctness based solely on your desperate need to be right all the time.
I am smart enough to just wait and see.

People who base their self worth on being right about everything prevent themselves from learning from their mistakes.

Your need to be right all the time is a heavy burden to shoulder.
It's no wonder you are so tiresome.

Boy has your tune changed. Just a couple months ago you were accusing Frank of being a swindler and doing business in bad faith.
I'm sure he read your posts and knows what real friends you really are now!

I don't know where and the hell this statement of yours came from? Do you suffer from Dementia? Big Frank is a father figure to me. We communicate regularly. He got screwed by his attorney....which is where i have always put the blame.

You might qualify as the example I used about people always wishing the worst for others.

It was YOU, zoomer, who mentioned the US court.

And based on that comment you are 100% wrong.

Have the courts determined his attorney was at fault for the alleged fraud?

Or is that Big Frank's defense strategy? "No es mi culpa!"

Can you give us an update on the case? Is BF still in jail, or did he post bail?

Quick update:

Big Frank is back in the USA.

Big Frank and Rocky have joined together and are suing Big Frank's attorney. Next step will be the court battle against Big Frank's attorney for creating a Shell company in order to initiate a lien against Rocky's property.

In a country where prostitution is legal?

Sure. Implementing Zoning Laws isn't saying a business is illegal. It just dictates where you can conduct that type of business. You can have an auto garage in this neighborhood, but you can't have it in this neighborhood. You can have a factory over here, but not near this residential area. It's good for property values.

Rather than fight with the gov't (and lose), it sounds like Classicos/Merengue cut a deal and got something out of it. Maybe some type of temporary tax break? Either way, smart move on their part.

zoomer's remarks specifically mentioned the US.

Just because an activity is "legal" does not mean local sindicos and the ayuntamiento will let it operate just anywhere.

A slaughterhouse is also legal, but I doubt it would be permitted in downtown Sosua.

Well the El Patron post went on in two segments for quite some time.

I do apologize since I did impugn your feelings for Frank, because for the most part you defended him and called him a "father figure".
However some of your posts stopped short of saying Frank was in cahoots with his lawyer. And you did say Frank's lawyers were to blame and you could not understand why Frank allowed them to lien the property. Perhaps your wording was unintentional

Here are some excerpts that led one to draw conclusions that you might have thought the fraud may have not been unintentional.

You: as a seller, you do not allow an attorney to open a "shell" company so that you can then put an illegal lien on a property that you do not own. That's fraud. And now people are in trouble."

If it was forged with BF's ID and signature, BF would have filed against that lawyer as soon as he discovered it.

Here is the thing: in every legal conflict, there is usually a clear winner and clear loser, which means lawyers are losing all the time.

frank claims BF gat "bad legal advice." I interpret this to mean BF ordered the lawyer to execute the legal strategy...which may have backfired. People act on bad legal advice all the time and often suffer for it.

But at the cliched end of the day, it is not the lawyer but the client who is at fault.

I would also be curious if the lawyer who gave the "bad advice" is the same lawyer defending BF in this matter.

You: OK, now you are starting to impress me. Very good!

You: Rocky is a stand up, 100% honest man. I've known him for many years. Big Frank, and Big Frank's lawyer only needed to sit down and talk to him. But for reasons that no one knows even to this day, they didn't want to. Hence, the situation we have right now.
