So there was the Shakira scandal of a few years ago. She charged historically high prices for a show that didn't last as long as the trip from Los Rios to the venue.
Back to Miley, her top ticket price was something like $15,000! Of course, most of the ticket were selling for amounts closer to 1/10 that amount. The stadium is very big for a city the size of Santo Domingo - - when the attraction is not baseball or a top Latin act. She could have sold out a week of shows if she alternated opening and closing for Juan Luis Guerra and lowered the top ticket price, but why would she when she has nothing to gain from doing it?

You are right on point Harley, but the politicians and the church still run the country so this is how they keep their hold on power. Even songs with suggestive lyrics are banned.
It is not only the government and the church, many decent Dominicans are offended by Miley including other artists.

You're soooo right. And seeing a naked teenager riding a ball on tv singing and gaining fame from doing so has absolutely nothing to do with it..
i think i posted this before, but here goes, once more. i was at a caseta on the malecon one day, and two twenty-somethings came in with their kids, a boy and a girl. they were probably 7 years old. the place was packed. the girl leaned up against the bar area, and the boy proceeded to give her a serious dry hump, replete with some ill-intentioned pelvic thrusts. the mothers were both dying with laughter. at one point, the mother of the little boy yelled at him;
give it to her hard. if you break it, i will pay for it.
and we worry about Miley Cyrus.
