my man, If I did not own real property and\or work here I would do just what your are doing. There are many a peeps who come here to "winter" away from the cold climes for a few months and pay the exit fee. No biggie! The worst that could happen is maybe one day you get refused re-entry, so what. Just head to Colombia ,Costa Rica , Panama etc. If you get sick or injured here, slam it on a credit card or pay cash/pesos. No one is going to be looking for you. If one is not conducting business here a bank account is not really necessary.
It will be working just fine next week, next month, and even next year. You guys have to stop the scare tactics lol
