I have to assume that the reference a "digital copy" of the vaccine card actually means a photo of it. The paper card will not survive very long with daily use and getting a replacement will be harder than dealing with Migracion if possible at all. So I am assuming that a clear picture on your phone will have to suffice for the time being. We'll see what is acceptable on a business by buisness basic after Oct. 18.
Honestly I am not worried. I was planning to do two Pfizer for traveling later on. I can still wait. I do banking online. Claro online. Worst case supermarkets do delivery. More Uber Eats again. Authorities I don’t know. My former business partner I gave a power of attorney in case I leave for a longer period. So with this plan I can’t go to restaurants or how is it ? The American tourism the DR depends so much on now will drop significantly. Who came up with this ?

I don't know if I am for or against this, nor do I know if it will work. But, if it is a requirement, I won't fight it. As far as the card being destroyed, just get your it laminated like your cedula. It's easy.

I would be worried about who decides if the card is genuine or not and the possibility of ten years jail. I really doubt they can manage this. I find the whole plan a little wacko. As foreigners we are probably less likely to be victims of possible abuse.

That's false.

The article literally says that people can use a PCR test valid for 7 days if they are unvaccinated.
So you need a long term plan with a Lab. Pay $50 for a PCR test once a week. Great idea, keep posting...................

Since the start of the pandemic I have been first in Santo Domingo and then Las Terrenas and Santo Domingo and then Las Terrenas etc I definitely know where I prefer to be come the 18th October. Las Terrenas 100 times more. Santo Domingo is going to be a nightmare if this gets implemented.

10 years in jail. Well I for one will not be trying it lol . I adapt to the situation like since March 2020. Only once did I break the curfew. In Las Terrenas I suddenly realized I was 30 minutes over.

Look at your Vax card.
Cheap thin paper, probably printed in China, but way bigger than a wallet. Will you fold it in two directions to slip it next to your ATM card?

It frays easily, if damp it will deteriorate faster, ink will smear.

Where do you keep it? Back pocket, purse or glove box. Most keep them safe near their passport.
You take a picture of it and keep it on your phone just like many do with their passport and other ID's.

This is a translated copy of the Law from the Listio Diario newspaper. If you live or visit here I suggest you read it, instead of posting rhetoric. IT IS THE LAW..............

La República Saturday, October 9, 2021 Restrictions apply for the unvaccinated Being vaccinated will be mandatory to go to work and they will require the card in public places.

The Ministry of Public Health confirmed yesterday through a resolution the national territory as epidemic due to Covid-19 and made it mandatory for people over 12 years of age to present the vaccination card with at least two doses to be in places of collective use, including centers of studies, public transport, restaurants, shopping and entertainment centers.

Resolution number 00048 was released yesterday afternoon by the health authorities where a series of measures are established to continue combating Covid-19, among which are some applicable to spaces for public use, which come into force as of next Monday and other individualized ones, to be applied from Monday 18.

Among the former are the mandatory use of masks, frequent hand washing, respect for physical distancing and other health protocols in force and that public use establishments may receive people up to 75% of their capacity, complying with the protocols.

.In addition, it establishes that for the celebration of activities that imply agglomeration, the authorization of the Ministry of Public Health must be obtained and the prohibition of the sale of alcoholic beverages in grocery stores, discotheques, bars, casinos and entertainment centers from Monday to Friday is confirmed. from 12:00 at night and Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 in the morning.

These provisions will come into force as of 5:00 in the morning of next Monday the 11th of this month, when the State of Emergency and the mobility restrictions through curfew ends, which were in force in the country for a year and seven months..

vaccination carrnet from 18 Among the individualized measures that will come into effect from Monday 18 of this month, are that those over 12 years of age must present an identity document and their vaccination card with at least two doses of vaccines against Covid-19 , both originals or in legible physical or digital copies to the public or private authority to attend in person to different places.

These places include work centers with closed spaces for collective use; to study centers of all levels, whether public or private; to use any of the means of public transport, whether urban or interurban and to enter restaurants, bars, colmadones, discos, clubs, shopping centers, shops, casinos, gyms, sports centers and any other entertainment center.

If they have not been vaccinated with at least two doses, then people over 18 years of age will have to repeatedly present a PCR test, in original, with a negative result, carried out maximum seven days before by the Ministry of Public Health or a authorized laboratory.

Public Health may grant special permission to people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.

It warns that in the event of the falsification of any of these documents, the person responsible may be prosecuted and punished in accordance with the provisions of the Penal Code.

Just to add, the penalty is 10 years in jail. Good luck with that..................f

Somebody has already beat you to it. One of the clinics in Puerto Plata will give make you one for 1000 pesos. Also, the pharmacy in Plaza Internacional in Sosua was selling fake ones until they got caught a few weeks ago.

That could get you ten years in jail so they say lol I would generally, for the country, be concerned about abusive authorities claiming your vaccination isn’t genuine although you think it is.

What court in the world would even take this case. They better build a whole host of new prisons. And they have a computer record - OK and every bar and restaurant will search to see if your card is false. Even the police won't do that

And which bar owner or restaurant will look more than a quick glance, if at all. Especially at a photo on a cell phone ? They won't even know if it's a photo of your card or your buddy who came in 5 feet ahead of you. Will they require us to produce an ID with photo at the same time ?

Nope - this absurd rule is going to go away faster than the helmetless riders running red lights in front of Playero.

Give it a rest ? No I won't - government stupidity and over reach should not be given a rest.

Part of the reason I gave a power of attorney to my former business partner so I can leave if this doesn’t pan out well. Plus I am very happy with a lawyer I now use in Santo Domingo and I also know one I like in Las Terrenas. I was going to give another nickname but I better not.

Some here I think only know the campo life or a gated type tourist area. If you know Santo Domingo or Santiago you know this is going to be impossible.

Printcity now provides the service. I was thinking this is how they should have done them in the first place
