i am always surprised with those who bother to continue relationship like that. you just know it will never go right. maybe under different circumstances, with a woman who is educated and intelligent to know she needs help and seek that help... but here? i am pretty sure this woman will go on suffering all her life and will pass this on to her daughters. this is a sad chain of unhappiness and abuse. it is difficult to break free.

I am not sure how to answer this. First, Its not an age thing? I am not an old gringo but if I was I could understand your point. And yes you will find many beautiful Dominicans to love you here I agree.

It's quite easy to strike up a conversation with a woman here (but then again, I am respectful). The thing is she is not poor, she comes from a well to do family and yes I was warned by her parents that she can be a hurricane so they are all well aware of how she gets when she de-componsates. More closely, I am have been the only man in her life that has hung in there and didn't leave (she had two prior boyfriends before me).

I also agree, if this problem is not addressed marriage and children would be hell and walking away would be the best thing to do for everyone concerned. Professionally speaking she may have trauma induced anti-social and combative disorder triggered by child sexual abuse. But she also on the other side of the coin she has touched my heart unlike any other woman I met. When she does not have an episode she is the sweetest most loving caring woman I have had met.

I agree but this is my hope that she does get help. she is well educated (Engineer), and one of the smartest women I know but she is damaged. I am giving this break but being there for her at the same time. Over the next year, she supposed to address these mental health problems with therapy/counseling as well as family counseling because she also blames her parents because they did not protect her (They didn't know it happened), learn about anger management, stop mechanism etc. If that does not happen then I will move on with my life. But she says she wants to be healed, that she wants to be better so lets see if that's what will happen our not. The proof is in the execution or maybe in this case the exercisam (JOKE).

what it takes is awareness that the issue exist and constant willingness to address it. harley is more of a specialist in this field but it is my understanding that women like that never fully recover. and many do not even get good enough to form a healthy relationship. unfortunately if you leave wanting to protect yourself it will only reinforce her notion that people abandon her. it is a situation where no one can win.

First of all - there are some excellent therapists here in the DR, so yes she can deal with her issues here.
She is not a poor young Dominican- she's an Engineer.
How do you know he's old. You make a lot of assumptions. One doesn't choose who they fall in love with.

It is a sad situation thats gone on in the life of this poor young lady but if that is all she is doing there are plenty of hope and help you can give her to help over come the past.
So far she seems to using the rage to help her cope. Many of these cases usually leads to depression, anxiety. self mutilation and suicide.
Can she read in English.

There are alot of great Dominicanas. Be picky, its not the USA. You can get what you want you just have to spend a little time and get to know one. Stay away from the tourist areas the women there are all half a hooker.
