I am going with the 2nd study. Si No Vac being useless against Omicron.

With Omicron as contagious as the measles and no vaccine that kills the virus, it is virtually inevitable.
Nope, we have no time machine.

Research findings
The findings show that two doses of either Comirnaty or CoronaVac vaccines provide very poor virus killing (neutralising) antibody responses against Omicron. The findings also show that a third dose of Comirnaty vaccine given to those who received two doses of either Comirnaty or CoronaVac provides protective levels of protective antibody against the Omicron variant; while a third dose of CoronaVac given to those who received two previous doses of CoronaVac does not provide adequate levels of protective antibody.
Professor David Hui urged those eligible but who have not received two doses of vaccine to get vaccinated as a matter of urgency, ‘The transmissibility of Omicron variant means that if the virus started spreading in Hong Kong, unvaccinated people who are highest risk of severe disease - older age or underlying diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, will rapidly at high risk.’ He pointed out that the reduced severity of Omicron epidemics in South Africa and United Kingdom was being reported from vaccinated or previously infected (in South Africa) populations. Hospitals in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in affected countries are rapidly getting filled with unvaccinated people.
‘Those who had received two doses of either Comirnaty or CoronaVac should get a third dose of Comirnaty vaccine around six months after their second dose of vaccine to achieve optimal protection against Omicron variant,’ remarked Professor Malik Peiris.

When you say that you arrived last Friday, do you mean the 17th or the 10th?
Did the family discover they had contracted omicron by way of testing?
Just trying to nail down the timeline of the incubation period.
Was the whole family required to quarantine and is that why you moved in with them?
Sorry for all the questions but, I'm a detail kind of person.

SIL was tested on the Monday afetr the weekend - confirmed Omicron
Rest of the family - daughter / wife got it a few days later.... then the 22mo old
Yes - they all quarantined , I visited... Fri nite arrival and 3x a day Sat/Sun/Mon - dinner together every nite
The women were clear by Monday - I moved in Tuesday and have been fine
I nevr quarantined per se but I kept to myself pretty much

I fly back Monday

Windy - read up on T cells
Antibodies come in two forms and the important form is the neutralizing antibody that sticks to the spike and prevents body cell infection. Antibodies dont kill. T cells kill.
A lab test of antibodies does not determine how many are the sticky type.
Real world data is needed.

Let's compare Canada with the DR. Canada currently has 50,896 cases/1M - the DR has 37,488/1M. The death rate in Canada is 788/1M. In the DR, it's 384/1M. Looking at the death rate as a percentage of cases, the death rate among cases is 50% higher in Canada than in the DR. Today, Canada reported a record high number of cases - about 40% higher than the previous high. I don't think this is any time for Canada to be tooting it's horn.
