Aw La Petite Chateu wonder floor shows, only problem was getting to work later. Burned now early 90s

IIRC, it wasn't burned, it was removed to make way for cabanas. I'm not sure, but I think it became Tia Tania Cabanas.

Cabanas, they are all over the DR. Ever been in one? No check in, no check out, no windows EVER, when you pay it is like a bank swivel, you don't see who collects, and they don't see who pays.

Would it surprise you that 95% of the business are Dominicans? Who do you think the men take there? School Teachers, their wives? Who?

about 20 minutes past Cabrera, on the way to Nagua, there is a little village called Payita. if you blink, you will pass through without seeing it. one more sleepy little village along a Dominican thoroughfare.

why do i mention it, you ask? well, despite its apparent anonymity, it has a huge cathouse, with upwards of 30 girls on a good night. yup, all the way in the woods, behind God's back.

prostitution is lifeblood. it is not going anywhere.

which Dominican ''people'' are you talking about? where? the majority of Doms?

where do you guys meet these people to whom you cavalierly refer? how come i have never met anyone who is in severe opposition to prostitution in the DR?

Because you need to get out more?
Just kidding since I know you are knowledgeable and worldly and all that.

My DR family certainly does not like the reputation of Sosua or Boca Chica which taints the world view of the DR and features the DR on whore monger web sites. Its pretty obvious when they told they guy down the street by Janets in Cabarete to get his brothel out of there or else, and then he goes to corner of Sosua out of sight and gets shut down anyway. What else could it be?

Or read the news on the topic from the Attorney General.

Prostitution will never be stopped anywhere unless you were to kill everyone.
If you killed all the women, there would still be prostitutes until the species became extinct.
That is not the point of this thread.

That said, the DR does not like sex tourists, which are a small subset of the over all prostitution in the DR.
Goodness knows Sex Tourists think they are the saviors of baby mammas in Sosua as well as the entirety of Sosua. That is crystal meth clear.

As more money comes to the north coast, there will be more and more pressure on the sex tourists.
I have spoken to people who were in on the re-development business on that very point.

It very unlikely anything will happen to the Cat House of Cabrera unless it becomes infamous on the Internet.

People will tell you what they want you to hear, what they think you want to hear and sometimes, they will tell you what they really think. If you really want the truth, divorce your wife and then interview her and her family.

very interesting observation about the mongers thinking they are the saviors of baby mommas.

kinda reminds me of the foreigners who think that their spending is what keeps the country afloat. i remember when there was that immigration shemozzle some time back, the recurrent refrain was ''let them deport us and see what happens to the economy''.

where is this money for the NC going to be coming from?

Exactly. Brothels like the one gorgon mentioned are all over DR in hidden corners. NOT in your face like Sosúa. Even in our little corner of DR. Even one with mostly/all Venezuelan girls, which riled the Dominican and Haitian girls.

What is so hard to understand? They don’t plan to eradicate prostitution, they don’t want the Sosúa and Boca Chica reputation to stain the entire country.

I remember walking into a cat house in the area a few years back and only one of the girls was of legal age. The rest were between 13 and 17.

And quite honestly, you would never guess the youngest ones were as young as they were. They were all very well developed physically.

So yeah, just the way the locals want it. Discreet, not in your face prostitution. Like I mentioned before.

wasn't Lapsus the one that burned?

Stop making me think so early in the morning!

Lapsus was closed and torn down.

The one that burned was Jazzy's on España. That one hurt, I knew a lot of the girls.

Note: I have lived in various sectors of the city over the years. Mostly middle class and upper middle class neighborhoods. (I was once neighbors with Johnny Ventura)

I have to agree with the opinion most Dominicans feel Sosua is an embarrassment to the country. I've never run across anybody who would go there because of it's reputation.
The girls who go there don't want people to know they're there either. Put two and two together.

Discreet? yes. In your face? never.

could be I been wrong before.

As far as the comment by someone on the cabana's and the majority of the customers. I don't really believe there are enough expats in the country to keep just the cabana's on avenida san isidro open. let alone all the other's in the country. Every pueblo has at least one.
Have heard secretary's day is a big money maker. they are not all taking hookers there.

yes, JD...none of the girls who work Sosua are from the area. they are from Santiago, and Bani, and places far afield...a lot of the hanger on boyfriends are from Sosua, though.

I don't know what to tell you. But it's true. You can do your own survey. But don't just talk to that Fausto moto guy. Cause he drives his sister to pedro clisante. And he'll stick his daughter out there as soon as he can get away with it. He's fine with it.

Go talk to hard working middle class Doms. You'll get your answer.

Who else thinks this will still be a topic of conversation 15 years from now? I kind of think it will be.

Maybe, and its just a Theory
Dominicans are against it because they know 90 % of them (their MEN) Patronize Hookers in one way or the other ..
The the other 5 % Hire Smoking HOT Secretaries ,, with the benefits ..
(yes i know that leaves 5% unaccounted for )

I love the Dominican People, but they are bad Liars , and hypocrites ... not bad as in bad people, just bad at making it believable .

Like Jimmy Swaggart Malo.. just like THAT ...

I can't understand why this is being rehashed again. These threads pop up on DR1 every once in a while, there is never anything new. Same old tread, same old opinions, same things going on.

Or as Yogi Berra would say...….nobody goes there any more because it is too busy.

Anyone returning from STI on a Friday afternoon will see the best looking women way up that hill waiting for their gua-gua down to Cab/Sos.....

very interesting observation about the mongers thinking they are the saviors of baby mommas.

It is obvious by the statements that whore mongers make that their money supports the baby mommas and their families. Whore mongers state frequently that they are the only way these mothers could feed their children, all the way to supporting the entire population of Sosua. Where would all this money come from if not from them?

kinda reminds me of the foreigners who think that their spending is what keeps the country afloat. i remember when there was that immigration shemozzle some time back, the recurrent refrain was ''let them deport us and see what happens to the economy''.

It is similar, but more on point because the DR wants non sex tourism.

where is this money for the NC going to be coming from?

Who knows what money would replace the whore mongers money? Certainly not me. I could never accurately predict the future to say that more non-sex tourists would come. All I know is that the powers that be have reasons to reduce the reputation of prostitution in the DR. There are obviously bigger fish to fry.

My best guess is that the area will have more long term residents over time. A project like Dream City is certainly hoping that is true.
