Rainfall Levels for February in 3 Parts of the DR

Hello, I'm looking to vacation at a resort in Feb 08

I am wondering what the average # of days it rains in February in each of the following (or volume of precipitation)

LaRomana

Punta Cana

Puerta Plata


My impression is that it rains least in LaRomana and most in Puerta Plata--what I am trying to guage is the Relative amounts of rain as well as -relative to each area--what % of the time it might be expected to rain in each area---eg order of magnitude--10% of the time in LaR vs 30% of the days in PPlata--that type of thing.

My real motive is to try and gauge if I should risk going to a resort in PPlata due to a materially greater probability of rain days in PPlata as distinct from say LaR or PC

Good morning, we have another beautiful day in paradise. We have almost completely blue skies, 90F already (feels hotter) and a nice breeze.

Last evening we had some very dark threatening clouds, the wind came up, it cooled down, we had thunder and lightening - and no rain...... I am sure it rained west of us.

High today 92?F - will feel like 103F. Low 75?F

ionsys - well I am not able to really give you a definitive answer. I can tell you our weather patterns seem to be changing all the time. We have had a stunning August! In fact it is quite dry now. In the past we have had significantly more rain in August. This past year (if I remember correctly) the first half of Feb was great but we had a bit of rain later. March was very very wet for the second half of the month! I can't tell you about rain in La Romana for comparison. My best suggestion is to search the web for sites with historical info and then use it as a guide - but then it is a crapshoot as to what might actually happen......

Good morning, Bob is right... continuation of the same things - HOT, SUNNY, HUMID and occassional (very occassional) late day showers. We are in near drought conditions and need rain!!!!

Happy Anniversary to ME

3 years ago today I started doing the weather report! How time flies when you are having fun! I have tried my best to report every day what is happening here in the Puerto Plata area. Sometimes I was overworked (underpaid for sure) and could not post regular and then Chris and others stepped in. A few times I had internet issues (who doesn't here) and could not post. But for the most part is has been daily. Got to tell you I have enjoyed doing it. I've enjoyed meeting some interesting people via this thread too. And of course I have learned a lot.......

Today:

Sunny skies, a few clouds, a light breeze, maybe we will see more clouds later, maybe we will see a shower............ Right now it is 82 F but feels like 92F.... It looks like we had a shower overnight..... a few puddles on my way into work this morning.

Our weather has changed a bit, while some won't like it, we sure need it. Yesterday afternoon the black threatening clouds opened up and it rained!

This morning we had mostly cloudy skies, it was hot and getting hotter and very humid. This afternoon we had a bit of rain and I am sure more will follow. It has been very dry here and the rain is welcome!

Good morning, we have another brilliant day! There is not a cloud in sight this morning. It is already 83F and getting hotter. It is humid but we have a light breeze.

Yesterday the clouds rolled in and it threatened rain. But it was an idle thread - no rain here. But it did rain somewhere. It is interesting how when these clouds roll in - roll through - and the temperature will drop 6 to 8 degrees! It is so refreshing.....
