Have you ever looked at the amount of Dominicans (male/female) on sites like adultfriendfinder? I just looked, 25,899 listings, some showing full nudity and making it very obvious what they are looking for. These are Dominicans signing up and publishing their details without any "foreigner" help.

Woo hoo! Time to join another website!

Jimmy,

You got a point there I must say. Now that you want to be the "defense lawyer" on this case try explaining the several computers with over 14,000 photos of nude children and semi-nude children in them??? Yes, innocent until proven guilty if they are truly innocent. I am sure you will have some sort of reason why two grown men would collect 14,000 photos of nude children. Please be careful Jimmy on this topic! I am certain that this site is now being monitored by investigators.
This one is red hot!!!

They shoud rot in Jail, either here or in their home country.

Well from what I have just heard from a lawyer friend is that not one single photo of an under age person was on any of the computers NOR on the web sites. All of the thousands of photos are legal and have consent papers, proof of age ID etc.
Apparently an all day court session with the principals families, children etc all there.
NOW I WAS not there in person so you can say if you wish that its still rumor but I expect to see something come out about it official in a few days and maybe will even explain why the authorities were mislead in the first place but somebodies head should roll for causing so much to do about nothing over a little tiff with a recent associate over some other business not even related to this situation or type of business.

They sure work fast in the DR

Have been in on 7 raids involving Child Porn rings in the US. It took weeks and sometimes months to verify identities and ages of the people in the pictures. I am amazed that the DR law enforcement offices can solve this issue with such swiftness. Might have to start sending all are computer crime investigations to the DR so we can get to the Grand Jury in a timely manner.

But it is great to see a least an effort is being made to clean up this problem.

Funny, the Ucranian has listings on the DR1 real estate section. He must be very pleased with that kind of publicity.

James,

I think you are reading too much into what is being written. We are talking about a case of sexual exploitation and nothing else. But I agree that if this is unsubstantiated the authorities that had everyone, including myself infuriated have some explaining to do! I read the reports just like everyone else and I formulated an opinion regarding PEDOPHILES, not anything else. Yes, it is difficult to not string these guys up but we must believe in due process and also justice. being that I work in the criminal justice system and dealing with PEDOPHILES every single day I have formed a very biased opinion against them. Now that I got over my anger after getting numerous phone calls from the Dominican Republic regarding this incident I want to know more about what is actually going down there. However, I find it very hard to believe this lawyer friend of yours who claimed that he knows for certain that every single woman on these/this website(s) was verified as of age? Wow, he had access to all of these files? Will he be testifying on behalf of the defense? Because with a witness like this person the defendants cannot lose. Seems that you and your lawyer friend know more about this then we all do! Just curious... you got good sources!

Maybe it's a good thing

sometimes, that the wheels of Justice grind slowly, so as to obviate that kneejerk, "String em up" kind of attitude. It will be interesting to see how this turns out, but I must say that the tone has changed considerably since the initial post.

Here in DR they use French law. Guilty until proven otherwise.

I was pulled over in my car and arrested with some hand written piece of paper! Only because the "arresting @$$ hole" knew who I was!

And it was on a Bull $h1t charge as well! They had a "ladron" accuse me of breaking in a house in Charimico ... who actually had broken into my house and was arrested the day before!!

The jails here are horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smell of Urine and 10 "working girls" all in a cage!! Sleeping on the cold floor!!!

Then was transfered to the Puerto Plata holding cell ... which is a bit better and the cops there are nicer and my lawyer paid some money for me to sleep in a room with a bed and television!! :)

But its a horrible experience!!

Sometimes, I feel just as dumb as a stump...
First of all, I never knew that it was illegal to sell sex over the internet. There seem to be so many sites doing it, I simply assumed it was legal.
Then I read about this sex bust, and get totally sucked into believing that what was written was true. It didn't even cross my mind that these 2 dudes might be innocent.
I saw a report on some South American country's economy being ruined because somebody started a false rumour on the internet that their bananas were carrying some strange disease.
Then you have drsol reporting that we sell sawdust burgers here, that I cheat employees out of their liquidations, that no a single expat would ever step foot in here, and I wonder who might be stupid enough to believe such crap.
Now I know.. Guys like me, gullible as heck, believing stories, just because I see them written in black & white in newspapers and on the internet.
If these accused sex offenders are proved innocent, somebody owes them an apology, and even that isn't enough.
Here you have their names plastered over the front page of a newspaper as being pedophiles.
That can't be good for one's reputation.
I, for one, apologize for thinking the worst.

A few people do believe the crap. Yellow journalism it is called I think. But don't worry Rocky, I had one of your sawdust burgers the other day and I really looked hard, but for the life of me could not find the sawdust. I was surely cheated, I demand a sawdust burger! You should patent your sawdust burgers... they're pretty good.

I really wonder what the real story is on the 'pedophiles'. I hear a lot of stories these days of our fearless leaders being being very hungry.. and scare tactics and using the news media to place information to prove their case 'in the media' so to speak. OK, I confess, I'm a conspiracy theorist, but from what I hear these days, there is a 'third force' out there finding anything that they can find to get their names in the papers for making a 'good bust'. This is not the time to believe what you see or hear. This is the time to check out your sources and information very thoroughly and above all in business, keep yourself and your own dealings clean and well documented.

Nice to see there are some objective, reasonable people posting here. Then there are so many others who believe everything they read and automatically assume someones guilt. If there is ANYWHERE I would question what authorities put out it would be in the Dominican Republic. Maybe these guys are not guilty. Maybe they have been set up and the DR govt. is using them to make it look like it (the govt.) is indeed adressing certain problems such as this. Do you think the DR govt cares about these two guys? Every govt' on this planet set up people and then use the press to their advantage.

Now am I completely wrong? Probably. But as long as their is a 'MAYBE' let's give these guys a break. If they truly are guilty then I say they should be castrated.

Now I have said it before and I will say it again. I have NEVER been approached by a pimp in the DR and NEVER been offered underage girls for sex. Additionally, I have NEVER heard of a place that offers underage girls to tourists. I do not believe it to be a big problem in the DR and if it is, it is deep within the Dominican community and not something that tourists are running down there for.

I was approached nce by an obvious undercover cop trying to sell weed and fresh young girls so I said wait a minute and called over a PN colonel looking type with the fatigues and the fancy pistol and told him what the guy asked me to buy and he found it unfunny that the chump (e.g. his employee) was so bad at his undercover role. So even the cholo was a fake cholo just like the Tag Hauer watches in Boca Chica.

I have been asked maybe 10 times in 6 years by young girls directly for sex for $ , I think emulating the older girls they hang with and I just say well, let's have a look at your cedula and they know the jig is up - I suspect they want attention more than anything else or a few pesos for refrescos. Sad really, but I guess some roaches would try to take them up on it.

But by procurers or pimps, with a stable of girls , adults or youth, never.

If we learnt something from this it is that we should not be allowed to own torches and pitchforks.

You're so right.
I still can't get over how this story has turned around.
I just got a lesson in life.
Hope I'll be a bit smarter next time.

put a stop to the practice of "Trasta Blanca".
A small aside, just because it bugs me: it is "trata de blancas", roughly translated it means "white slavery", or the smuggling of women (regardless of color) for prostitution purposes. That has nothing to do with paedophilia or child abuse.

Off my chest.
