Since we?ve taken a turn to the serious again how about all of us just laying our cards on the table?

I?ll start:

I?ve never made a big deal about my sexuality and have lived a very ?normal? life with my partner of 12 years in the United States. We?re both well fed and fairly well educated and have been quite fortunate in our lives and up to about 6 months ago I personally had never experienced any form of bigotry based on my sexual orientation. Unfortunately that bigotry has come from members of this board. It?s obvious who those individuals are if you are a frequent reader so no reason to name names.

Personally I couldn?t give a rats arse what anyone thinks about my life style but don?t think for a minute that I?m not going to defend myself when attacked. I may be a bleeding heart liberal s.o.b. but when someone attacks me I?ll friggen come right back with a vengeance.

The whole reason for my ?Rosemary?s Baby? post was first to have a little fun and secondly to bring attention to the undercurrent of hatred some influential members of this board have.

Berzin, I think that poverty has a lot to do with prostitution but it's a CHOICE. Quick money can be made that way.

If you want to be a prostitute that is your OPTION. There are many men and women in the DR that aren't. No one is forcing them to do this. They WANT to do this and they know what they are doing.

The only people that I feel sorry for is the children. They don't have an option. As far as I know that's not rampant so.....

I think that it's nasty but men go to them and women want to provide the sevice. It hasn't changed in..... how long ....???and it's not going to. I don't have to go to them, befriend them, or have any contact with them so I don't.

It is a choice, but that wasn't my point. My point was that prostitution is a DOMINICAN situation and should be dealt with by dominicans. It is their country after all, not ours. And if it bothered them that much they would do something about it, but they choose not to.

And let me tell you that poverty is not a choice in this lifestyle but an excuse.

As I have stated before in a book called "Whats' love got to do with it" the author paints a picture of circumstances bearing down on these women that leave them little or no choice, but does not address the bad choices they make beforehand that perpetuates the cycles of poverty for them and for their children.

I stated this elsewhere and will state it here-I have known young, beautiful girls from good families who while in school decided to work at strip clubs and escort services with the excuse of needing money to pay for college.

There are a thousand and one ways to pay for what you need in the US without having to resort to this type of activity. But when even young women who have access to student loans and whose parents work cry poverty as the driving rationale it sort of becomes an exercise in rationalization that in both cases(women here and women in the DR) are excuses rather than choices.

Jackieboo is an absolute twit who wishes to blame others for his own shortcomings. Look at the following comment

I couldn't possibly top BushBaby's diagnosis of the problem, or even Cobraboy's one word description of the whole situation, as being "pathetic".
If Jackieboo's true desire, as mentioned above, is for us to not be politically correct and to say it plainly, why would he get offended about being called gay?
If he feels it is perfectly normal and acceptable, why would it be any different than someone calling me heterosexual?
That certainly wouldn't offend me, even if the person saying it was trying to be offensive.

Assuming that the general consensus is to allow a person to participate in this forum, despite him having demonstrated a clear intent to irritate others, then the other members would have "carte blanche" to reciprocate.

I personally have wasted money and several days worth of time and energy, trying to help Jackieboo with his problems, from resolving his household electrical problems, to forming a plan and recruiting personel for his trash project.
It's plain to see that he is not appreciative of all this help.
He has wasted other DR1 member's time and money as well.
I know for a fact that BushBaby made a special trip from POP to Sosua to try to assist him with his trash project.
I know that Cobraboy did everything in his power to steer Jackieboo straight in said project, and clearly wasted his time too.
I know that the candidates for the trash project, also had their time wasted.

For Jackieboo to expect respect from any of us is absurd.
My suggestion in a previous post, that he might be suffering from a mental disorder/disease, was nothing less than generous and sympathetic, because if he does not suffer such a malaise, then I must conclude that he has a black heart and a rotten soul.

IN JACKIEBOO'S DEFENSE
We have seen a lot worse than him.
We've had scammers, pedophiles, liars, cheats and more.
I do not put Jackieboo into this class, and nowhere near it.
I would be willing to bet that he can be a generous man, when he wants to be.
I would also be willing to bet that he has other good qualities, that have not been seen here.

Maybe it's time he show us his good side, and learn to subdue his bad side.

I am not quite sure that I could have said it any better than has been said here. Atimes when one notices something it is usually better to just keep quiet and let someone else validate it. I have never met Jackieboo before but for me to have come to the same conclusion about him (a long time ago)as others that have met him says it all.

I was able to pick him up from his first post that I read and this has nothing to do with sexual preference. He has a very 'perculiar' way of writing and it is a pattern that he has consistently showed. The good book (The bible) tells us that ' The way a man thinketh, so he is'. This is a statement that has been true for thousands of years and will continue to hold true till eternity. A man can only behave, speak or write from the depths of what is contained inside of him and what he sees.

My questions to Jackieboo is ' What is it that you are seeing' ?

I can say it without any shadow of doubt that the same problem he seems to be having with DR1 is the exact same reason why he had to move from America to the DR. The same reason why he hates the american government, conspiracy theories etc. It is a very clear pattern. Yes, I said it and you all can quote me.

My only advice to him is that whatever he needs to search his heart in order to find whatever he is looking for. It has nothing to do with the american government conspiracy, conspiracy on DR1 or any homophobic tendencies.

The fact of life is that as far as sexuality is concerned, a standard has been set by the people that control the affairs of the world and people will just have to learn to deal with certain things until that standard changes.

You cannot live life like ' It is me against everyone else' . Things will never work that way otherwise, you can pack up your belongings and go live on the moon where you won't have to deal with any of the ' crap of this world'.

Let?s start with Bushbaby;
1. I met with him once. He did NOT make a special trip to Sosua as he was dropping by Rocky?s to return a golf club.
2. Although Bushy has been here forever his advise was very generic and had little to do with the project that was in the works. I sat for what seemed like an eternity listening to him drone on about how to soft sell goods.
3. I have never accused Bushy of being anti-gay or anti-anybody.

1. You keep saying that your time and money was wasted when trying to help me. I now ask that you tell me what I owe you for your time?
2. Rocky you are anti-gay and I have experienced your wrath both here on the board and from friends that have had to sit through one of your ?lectures?.

What Rocky and Bushy don?t seem to get is that they are just as offensive as I am only in different ways. Both are know-it-alls that have an attitude of it?s my way or the highway. Rocky especially loves to be in control of every situation and if you have the stamina to sit through one of his lectures, and yes they are lectures Rocky, you may be able to come away with something.

The thing is that neither Rocky or Bushy have the ability to have an interactive conversation, period. They are very similar in that way and it is boring as hell.

As for the others on this board that are followers of Rocky and Bushy I?ve not seen an original statement ever. Most of what I see are either sophomoric quips or compliments to their leader.

Since coming here I have made wonderful friendships in the ?real? world and unfortunately none has come from this site and none probably ever will.
