That is hilarious.
From what the Puerto Ricans did to my hometown, I would say that would be a definite NO.

If it can't be bought, maybe invading and taking it by force should be considered (tongue in cheek, of course :))

Heads up: This thread will discuss about this "Should DR buy Puerto Rico?" This is based from the post at Reddit that caught my eye and want to see and hear your thoughts. All the comments over there makes me laugh but yeah.

See for yourself:
The current and previous administrations can't manage the DR and people starting now with this? Lol!

When did it get into the common lexicon that countries are for sale? Is this a case of "if you say something stupid enough times, it becomes true?"
Centuries ago................look at the history and the changed territorial landscape, much was purchased and even more taken by force.

As to the DR buying Puerto Rico.....not likely ever going to happen......for the cultural, political and financial reasons trifecta.

Respectfully,

Now there's an idea, and as a bonus we can throw in any red state below Maryland and above Florida. We'll just have to hide the the meth heads and the test grades before closing!Or are we only looking to sell foreign language property?

Taking a point from a playbook of the next POTUS. Comical isn't it. People love their "What If" scenarios,

Bad enough the DR is planning to sell electricity to PR when it can't keep the lights on 24/7 here.

Why would they? Both islands would lose a lot of revenue. It is a big business shipping Dominicans to Puerto Rico, and then issuing fraudulent visas to get them to the US.

The Dominicans and Puerto Ricans have a lot in common. They spend more time trying to get out of work than actually working and all they think about is their next meal or beer.

They are all like the Latino version of Chumlee on Pawn Stars.

Puerto Rico is a "commonwealth" of the US, although if you ask those in Puerto Rico many (most) will say Puerto Rico is a country.
