so.... What do Dominicans find really annoying about johnny foreigner

Not only Canadian but American too. "I'm sorry" is their favorite phrase of the English language. When they tell me "I'm sorry", I always ask them "Why are you sorry?" They don't know what to say!
Another phrase that they love to say is "You know what I mean" which I always say, NO I don't know what you mean, finish your thought/sentence.
And don't get me started with the world "Like" in every sentence that many use all the time.
wow its gringo bashing at its finest....... first off saying sorry is a natural courtesy.. its sorta a respect thing....I dont know of any americans you deal woith but most of us dont use the word Like...... and you know what i mean is only said to people who get the general idea of what you are trying to say....I will give you the pasty whites with the shorts, that is tacky.. and oh do rich americans go to DR in the first place? I thought we just went to Costa Rica...
A Dominican may say "wow!! I love your sneakers"....but you know, deep down he hates you!!!!!!!!!!

When a gingo walks into the hood and is buying something at the local colmado....(where there are no marked prices anywhere) and the clerk TRYS for the "gringo markup" and is corrected with the REAL PRICE.

These are probably the big ones. I can spot the foreign students at PUCMM easy, they are the worse dressed of all the kids!!...
I think that things like arrogance, burping and poor manners are disliked in all persons...of course some of do the burp to get a laugh or show we are really happy and full.....Yeah, it's not cooth!!
Something that seems to pi$$ off Dominicans is when you attempt to correct something and you get the : "This is my country!!" repost!!! Nothing youcan do but walk away...
I think I will get my students to get some big garbage bags and we'll do a clean up of some highway...Who knows? Maybe some converts???

I remember you saying that and right after that we seen some some gringos wearing grandma dresses and flip flops walking down the street.
No, my lass hates me wearing shorts unless I am in water, she says it makes me look like a stupid foreigner. I don't think I even have any shirts these days, all vanished.
number one issue is that "all gringos are dirty", as my workers put it. miesposo told me they had many european/american guests in the hotel who did not wash even once during their two week vacation saying they were clean after swimming in the pool so no need for a shower.
number two is that gringos are totally dumb to fall for sankies and to pay double prices for everything.

That they actually spent time making up a 1/2-asss story of critical urgency to get the money to fall out of your pocket and it didn't work.
And I guess you are not an American, Canadian or British by the way that you write
Of course american....... you know when it is said in the article... US WE etc etc etc but will say that when i am there i am very courteous and polite. And for the record would anyone wear those sneakers? hahahaha
