so what about all the local places in every city and campo. The dive places where it's all Dominican men patrons. The boys come in and sit at a table, a few "waitresses" come over, sit down, drinks with the boys. Then to the back rooms for 500 pesos/session. The truth is, this is all about Sosua. Any way to ramp up the shakedown income. Because you know darn well they're not over in Moca raiding the "negocios"

I'm in Moca every Sunday. Would have to agree.

Yes I do... Sosua was a village 25 yrs ago not today... back then Playero was a colomado you had to go Puerto Plata and Santiago for groceries things change. 5 yrs from now we will see shopping scooters and Traffic jams in playero a Pola store..
When I heard Chinese going to invest in Sosua I didn’t believe it, I was wrong..deal is they have to show effort and will to get
Things under control for more money to flow ... eating popcorn on sidelines watching what happens next.

I've been saying Sosua would be easy pickins for the Chinese should they ever decide to start buying
the place up and do the exact same thing they do in every other country they heavily invest in.
I don't have a problem with people traveling to another country to get laid. I do have a
problem with some people's behavior and serious lack of respect for not only their fellow travelers but
towards locals as well. Just because you can do something, doesn't always mean you should.

unlike the "****holes" that are Los Mina, Villa Duarte or Los Alcarrizos? No illegals there. Maybe some upstanding Dominican deportees though

Let's hope the Chinese don't take over Sosua. One thing worse than old Hookers in ill-fitting Spandex and broken sidewalks is a bunch of cheap clone Chinese 5 & dime stores and junk fast food....and that is all they seem to offer.

I've seen the exact same model in many places and the Chinese lack creativity and individualism. Sorry if you are Chinese, but this is the truth

Somehow, I just don't see the Chinese taking over Sosua. What would make them all want go there?

Big investment speculators...caused realestate prices to go insane in Toronto and Vancouver...government had to implement tax on foreign ownership to slow it down...

That's true, but Sosua is no Toronto or Vancouver.

I don't know, but there are already two big Chinese stores and three Chinese restaurants within the last year or two. There maybe more that I don't know about.

They, the Russians, remain focused on Sosua Ocean Village so far, unless I missed something.

I have seen nothing about a Ritz Carlton near the airport, but yes Marriott is working on the old Ganesvoort in Sosua , with plans to have a W on Cabarete beach where Azurro was and a Ritz Carlton Resevere at La Boca east of Cabarete.

An increase in interest from the Chinese does not preclude others from taking an interest.
