Prices in Santiago:

- 340 at Sirena
- 399 at El Encanto
- 339 at Nacional
- 384 at Jumbo

Personally, I stopped buying SD long time ago due to these hikes and its quality. My choices are Cibao or Café Puro. If I feel fancy I'll go with Monte Real or Del Yaroa.

Monte Alto is now less expensive than Santo Domingo, at National in Santiago, today. 289 vs 350 for the 1lb bags.
I remember it being the other way round.

Real bad news if you're an instant coffee drinker. But seriously does anyone actually buy instant coffee in DR?

The Consumer Price Index report released Wednesday showed that the prices consumers paid for roasted coffee rose 2.5% in January over the previous year, while ...
The only instant I drink (occasionally) is the Nescafe machine version of Cappuccino you fine in some stores. Not bad at all.

I buy Induban Gourmet coffee "en grano". Very good IMO. It costs 435 pesos/lb. I drink two cups a day and a bag last around a month. That works out to 7 pesos per cup. The price of coffee could double and it still would be cheap. Regular Santo Domingo coffee used to be ok, but now it tastes horrible to me.

Yup. I have seen it go up gradually and now quickly. For example, the Nescafe Alta Rica 190g bottle in the UK used to be around £5 (or less with offers) and now is £7.25.

Some bright wit at my local Sainbury's supermarket put a 'Low Everyday Price' sticker next to the price :D

Anyone try this Dominican coffee? Kora Cafe. Bought it today at Bravo because of the price and it being from Jarabacoa/Tamboril. Full 16 oz, 275 pesos. Also bought Cafe Santo Domingo en grano 384 pesos.

Lavazza was buy one get one free. I think it was 697 pesos, I still have some so didn’t buy any.
