The Jolly Roger and Sosua Beach are far from the population centers of Sosua.I am still having a hard time understanding how Sosua has 50,000 people when it looks and feels the same size as my home town of 7000 people.

Don't forget the folks wanted by Interpol and the FBI who most likely did not participate in the census?2010 census Sosua 49,593
What does it include? If Cabarete goes all the way to Super Pola, it doesn't leave much room for suburbs in that direction.2010 census Sosua 49,593
It’s more like 70000 but only legal residents count just La Mulata alone Is small city 1000s of expats snowbirds Haitian workers .you must look beyond one block radius of PC ...I am still having a hard time understanding how Sosua has 50,000 people when it looks and feels the same size as my home town of 7000 people.

Forgive me as I find it confusing when the likes of Sosua Ocean Village is really in Cabarete. For all I know you are going to tell be that Cabarete is part of Sosua.Perhaps that is because you are only ever on one or two streets in Sosua? Just like people identify Cabarete as just the beach area when it stretches for the distance I indicated above.
Thanks, that makes sense now.El Batey, Los Cerros, Charamicos, Sosua Abajo, Maranatha, Bella Vista, Los Castillo, La Union, La Liberacion and many many more little villages from CMC to near the airport.
Pola and CMC are not in Cab ...even though name is CMC Cab.. it like this Sosua Ocean village name but in Cab.... I will pull out my vector map and post it , shows just need inspiration to find now..Whore mongers (aka "The Saviours of Sosua") provoke far more stimulating discourse than anything that ever happens in Cabarete.
Cabarete has had some very corrupt mayors since I have lived here, millions have been embezzled. Communities built and continuing to be expanded that are on protected wetlands - think La Cienaga where the land was filled in and titles given by the former mayor. Beaches appropriated - think Encuentro. Environmental disasters such as the Marriott construction at La Boca and Lifestyles in Cabarete Center. All of that doesn't generate nearly the interest for some reason. You post is an example.
Also, keep in mind, when people say Cabarete, they tend to think of the area of town where the beach is. Cabarete runs from La Boca up until past CMC before you hit the east end of Sosua near Super Pola. Super Pola might actually be in Cabarete, I am not sure on that point. Not only are Callejon de la Loma, Barrio Blano and La Cienaga in Cabarete, but so are Casa Linda, Sea Horse Ranch, Haciendas El Choco, ProCab, Costa Azul, Perla Marina and even Sosua Ocean Village are in Cabarete. That strip of beach bars is just as much "Cabarete" as that small section of Pedro Clisante is "Sosua", but what discussions that little strip of street brings on.
IT IS ! ! !Forgive me as I find it confusing when the likes of Sosua Ocean Village is really in Cabarete. For all I know you are going to tell be that Cabarete is part of Sosua.
Makes perfect sense. Must make governing the area rather difficult.IT IS ! ! !
So is Sabaneta.
This was discussed extensively in a thread several years ago with the exact delineation of the Sosua borders referenced.
Both Cabarete and Sabaneta are municipal districts within Sosua.
I am still having a hard time understanding how Sosua has 50,000 people when it looks and feels the same size as my home town of 7000 people.
Would it include Charamicos and sosua abajo?Fuzzy math.
Same as Covid death numbers.
2010 census Sosua 49,593
? see #4600?Would it include Charamicos and sosua abajo?
Yes, there are a few small hotels open but occupancy in most is low. The biggest hotels, such as Casa Marina, are not likely to open until the winter season and Bailee, the busiest restaurant by far, is not likely to open until then, either.FYI, although Bailee is closed the hotel above, Sosua Inn; is open and so are several others (Casa Valeria, Sosua by the Sea, New Garden etc.). Same with the Restaurants... To say Sosua is not open yet is not correct!
And you are correct 2xW. That's why the police are never around, they're always "on patrol" in PayitaYou'd be surprised how big some of these municipalities are -
Cabrera extends east past La Entrada to Payita
Perhaps when discussing local situations, one should confine their infinite knowledge to their own block.
