Always thought that common sense was the reason for not riding on a moto. Your Bailees comment reminds me of the Yogi Berra quote.....nobody goes there any more because the place is too busy.
Or as we are making predictions about Pedro Clisante should also take note of Yogi's insight

“It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”

Was that his originally. My grandad in Denmark used to say that. No idea where he got it from.

Oh OK, Change has been underway for over a decade. However if there is a time when a Marriott property opens up and takes my points, I am for it.
I agree that change has been underway for over a decade, but now it must be reversed.

The reverse officially began when the President was here a very short time ago.

That is what you find it convenient to ignore

Not trying going off-topic but I've lived in enough "developing" countries to understand if the top dogs
ever decide they want the foreign monger crowd gone, they will be gone within a matter of days.
This President is first and foremost a business man. He attended both Harvard University and Dartmouth
up in New Hampshire. He's worth a cool 75 million. If he and his team ever decide enough is enough,
these "warriors" along with the "business owners" they deem a nuisance to their agenda will be shut down
and shown the door so fast it will make their head's spin. Again, I've seen it happen in other countries and
would not be surprised at all if something similar were to happen in Sosua in the not too distant future.
Yes, I have seen how that works, too. The lucky ones are kicked out. The unlucky ones are arrested on a drug charge and jailed. To get out, costs a great deal of money

I think to put his net worth at 75 million is shorting him. He has vast off shore holdings as reported by the Wash Post 3 days ago. He rubs elbows with the king of Jordon. He cares not about Sosua period
Interesting.
Let me guess...
Neither does David Collado, José Miguel González Cuadra, Minoru Matsunaga, Rafael Arias,
Eduardo Sánchez González or Andrés Gustavo Pastoriza.
Might I suggest if you are not familiar with any of these folks (by name) you take a minute to
do some research on who they are before making statements like the one I highlighted above.

I think only 2 offshore companies were omitted from his declaration....and several were included

I doubt it's enough to worry about

You know this Sosua thing is deja vu.....all over again...every year...........
You are wrong, this time El Presidente came to Sosua and signed the papers right in the parking lot and declared that the money was allocated to the project so no,it's not like years past at all.

dont need too, Sosua is super small peanuts. Might I suggest you look at what it cost to rent commercial property per square foot on Pedro C. Its comical. The Prez made an obligatory stop to check a box. Do you actually believe he is in anyway shape or form involved in day to day negotiations of sleaze central. What a joke. The only way he found the place is his chopper landed at POP and he was escorted for a photo ops. How many times do you think he talks with executives from Barrack Gold a Billion dollar company with one of the biggest gold mines in the world 45 minutes from his house. Do you REALLY think he is on the phone with el Jefe from Sosua talking about chicas Lmao

I think the people who I mentioned above have a little more influence than
el Jefe. So short answer would be yes, especially people like David Collado
and Andrés Gustavo Pastoriza.

Like him or not Mr. Selfie is getting things done. They said it would never
happen with 27 y Duarte down in the Capital either. Surprise!

Bobby from Rumba's was run out of town (yes, I said run out of town) several
years ago. Rey, who's been leasing to own the property calls the place Kings.
It's been operating under that name for several years now. When was the last time
you were in Sosua?

I've never seen Collado in person and I've no desire to meet the guy but I do read
the local news down here almost every single day and if you think this new administration
is all bark, no bite when it comes clearing out the garbage you are mistaken. I can provide
you with a laundry list of things team Luis is getting done but I'll stop short because I
don't want to get accused (again) of not sticking to the "subject matter" of this thread.

Enjoy the rest of ya evening folks.

I think there is a possibility that zoning a red light district will just make the business grow and boom. Look at Amsterdam and Hamburg with their districts.

Then again, previous presidents came to Sosua multiple times to lay the first stone or put spade in the ground for a new hospital.
I have seen this at least three times in the last 10 years.
You just never know what actually will happen in RD.
I do agree that is they want to, it will happen as fast as they want it too. They have the power.
I personally will miss the beach the way it is. I like sitting at one of the casetas watching the people go by.
Just a beach with casetas at either site holds no attraction to me.
