The exchange rate won't go above 40 to 1 anytime this year and I doubt it'll reach that.

I got 32.60 at Vimenca in Sosua today. The administrator of the condo where I live got 32.65 at Banco Santa Cruz in Sosua yesterday and 32.70 the day before.

the exchange rate hasn't moved in over a year -- and I thoguht the IMF forced the DR to let it float -- the government is manipulating it to prevent rampant inflation...

go back on this very thread to see the falicy of this. A year ago the rate was below 29, and it has gone as high as 35 in between. That is about a 20% range.
