question? when im on holidays, and am going to to the bars, i like to dress up in dresses, or mini skirts. i know i come across as a "tourist" but why is it, i never see dr women wearing dresses or skirts? they're always in jeans, and tight i might add. i would think being "dressed up" would be considered "tasteful" rather than wearing jeans. is it considered tacky to be wearing something other than jeans? i know each culture is different, but i dont understand the jeans in the heat concept.

It is the best way

to show off an important attraction of the female body.

Low riders are IN....Just look around at all the kids in the best bars...tight is in! Skin in IN... Just the times we live in...

Down boy!

No jeans in first class? Bull. I fly AA quite a bit. When I fly I dress to be comfortable, not to impress other passengers. I have flown first class on international flights many times wearing jeans.

Usually when I fly to the DR I wear plastic exercise pants that are really comfortable. I have worn these on a ton of DR flights. I usually fly coach but even in first class I never have a problem. In fact because I just missed going platinum last year, I get upgraded to first class once in a while for free. A few times I have been sitting comfortable in coach waiting to take off and a flight attendant will come and get me. They take me to first class if there is an open seat, sweat pants and all.

I also do not notice even a slight bit of difference in service. I used to fly so much that the novelty has worn off years ago. I am usually asleep before the plane takes off.

As far as shorts in the DR. I wear them from time to time in the daytime. I will walk down El Conde wearing shorts, T shirt and sandals. I don't get any funny looks and could care less if I did.

Of course I don't try and enter museums, nice restaurants etc. I don't see the need for a collared shirt and long pants to go to KFC, an internet cafe or to have a beer at Pacos.

Night time is a different story. I still wear jeans quite a bit, but if we are going out on the town, I am not opposed to puting on a blazer or suit. It all depends on where we are going and how dressed up the novia is getting. If she is wearing a long gown, I will wear a suit. If she is wearing a short sexy dress, maybe jeans with a silk T and a blazer. Never a tie;-)

So officially when I'm in DR I'll be a tourist... but I'm from Canada, and it is very very cold right now, I want to get away into the sun and heat and be able to relax and be comfortable and not have to sweat like I'm under interrogation by the FBI... but at the same time, I don't want to be treated differently for what I wear when I'm there, and apparently wearing shorts(which I wear on vacation alot, they're at about my knees maybe lower) is not accepted or looked down upon?

I know about at nightime going to a club or dinner pants are a must. Okay, is it okay to wear jeans at this time? Would I be looked down upon?

Plus if you want to hit on a nice girl she won't be embarrassed being seen with a tourist looking like a fool, I'm saying this not knowing if you are single or not.

So if I'm out looking for some nice girl, and wearing shorts... that's bad? They won't pay any attention to me?

If I'm walking around on a tour... say the jeep safari would it be okay to wear shorts?
