Las Terrenas
Hi:
I will second the vote for Las Terrenas. I live here part of the year. There are approximately 5000 French, also many Itlalians, Germans, Swiss, Candadians, Americans and British ex-pats, along with Dominicans and Haitians. So, as you can see there is a heavy European influence in this small community. French, Spanish and English are spoken around town. You will finds products and services available here that you won't find in other parts the DR. Oh, and did I mention the beaches? Probably the most beautiful beaches in the country. The town of Las Terrenas is rimmed by one continuous beach. This a laid back beach town with a melding of European and Dominican cultures. If you want any additional info on cost of living or photos of the area send me a private message and I can supply this for you.
