Foreign Relations Minister Andres Navarro, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General William Munoz Delgado and Migration director Major General Ruben Dario Paulino Sem, held a working meeting with the head of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (Minustah), Sandra Honore yesterday, Wednesday 17 June 2015.
“We are very pleased and deeply honored at a visit by the special representative of the United Nations and the person responsible for the stabilization mission in the neighboring nation. We have gone in depth regarding the process of talks underway since last year regarding the Minustah mandate, and we also appreciate the decisive demonstration of cooperation with the Mission at this moment in support of the Haitian Police in the security of our diplomatic headquarters and consulates,” declared Navarro after the meeting, which took place in the Mahogany Room at the Ministry of Foreign Relations. During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Relations, the Minister of Defense, the commanding generals, the director of Migration and Honore also discussed border security issues between the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
