The Ministry of Public Works paid RD$239,000 in severance payments to Wendy Josefina Hernández on 10 March 2021. On Monday, the woman had removed her clothes in front of the Presidential Palace in extreme desperation. She said she had been fired four months ago from her job making RD$12,000 at the Ministry of Public Works and could not find other work. She explained she took the extreme action to call attention to her plight. She had used all the normal channels and could no longer wait to receive her severance payment.
