The capital city government announces it will be exchanging toys for discarded plastics. The toy giving will take place at the city hall in the Centro de los Héroes from 8am to 4pm on 9 January 2022. The 9th is the day of the “Vieja Belén”, a local tradition that is the last chance for gift-giving during the Christmas and Three Kings holiday season.
Those collecting 500 plastic bottles get a ticket to change for a bicycle, with 400 bottles you get a ticket for a skateboard. 200 bottles is enough for a doll or small toy car.
The bottles must be plastic, cleaned, compressed with the top still on to qualify.
Participants will be able to exchange a maximum of two toys per card, which cannot be similar in category, and the ticket will indicate the type of toy.
