The Ministry of Tourism announces it will promote the new darling of Dominican tourism, Miches, during the upcoming participation in Fitur, the Madrid-based tourism trade show, from 18 to 22 January 2023. Miches is located north of Punta Cana, on the eastern coastline of the Dominican Republic.

“This year, there is great expectation with the Dominican Republic’s attendance at Fitur 2023, where we are traveling with a record number of exhibitors to that important international tourism fair,” Dominican Tourism Minister David Collado said in a statement.

Collado said that 45 co-exhibitors and six major sponsors are part of the Dominican delegation to Fitur 2023. “As we do every year, we will take our diversified tourism offer to Fitur, establishing why we are the country with the best conditions for foreign investment,” he added.

According to the latest official data, from January to October 2022, the Dominican Republic received 5,826,078 visitors by air and 88,178 by sea.

In the first ten months of this year, visitor arrivals contributed US$7.28 billion to the Dominican economy. According to Ministry of Tourism forecasts, this year will end with the arrival of more than seven million tourists and revenues over US$8 billion.
