So I've been researching General Migration Law 285-04 and it literally has nothing at all to do with overstayers and everything to do with Haitians. Just Google the law. 15 pages of nothing. The legal residents can't stand that they got ripped off by some crooked attorney with their money, time, and stress. Lol unreal

Lol at that quote. He's the second person I've put on ignore and the ignore feature works brillantly. Some of these guys are literally seniors acting like they're in high school. Its shameful and pathetic. Take care bro.
Of course and you can't stop reading Shakira. Hips don't lie mamita and I'll be 49 before the year's out and haven't met that someone special on Clisante yet who will say "I do" so I can wisk her off her feet back to NYC.

Carry on and make it a grrrrreeeaaat day. Hugs, not drugs buddy!

Hopefully you'll be ok. Before January 21, overstay is over. Your posts just continue to show just how little you know about this place and also how you underestimate some of the members here whom also you don't know. You're extremely defensive and a like by G'Us is a curse btw, but then again you know him, right papi? Carry on Andy.

Overstay is not mentioned in the law and that's exactly the point. You are either legal or illegal, and it sounds like you, ma fre, are of the latter! As a member in good standing, I can offer help to those that realize they may be in over their heads. PM me if this is you.

Have a blessed day

You're so desperate for a debate you're not really comprehending well. Someone said that once you return to the country you're still an illegal. That has to be the most ridiculous thing that's been written in this thread. Furthermore you're very invested into this because you feel like you've done everything correctly while we overstayers have not. I get your frustration no one wants to pay all that money, waste all their time; while we enjoy life without that hassle. You feel ripped off and you should. You lost money and time. Ouch!
If you overstay (or not), the information of your entries and exits is logged in the immigration department's computer system (unless of course you don't think countries like the DR actually keep track of such information) . That data can be used in the future if immigration law is actually enforced. Time will tell on that.

If that computer system is as effective as the traffic fine one.....
it will be deadly !!!

I had a clean traffic record until that system came in... 18 mo ago or so

It pulled up a 2013 speeding ticket.... and fouled my Good Conduct letter until I paid it

Migracion has a nice record of everybody's comings and goings....

No, it went into effect recently.... as I posted

I may have been the 1st person clipped by the traffic system
It was so new that the payment feature wasn't operational when I tried to pay

Trust me - these new systems are very sophisticated

The Migracion one will give the new team a lot to work with.... if they so choose

Did you even read that? It even has Haitians in the title and half of the article is discussing....Haitians.
Regardless, #2 is requirements for Haitians to enter DR.

The entire point of the thread and that which (lo que) everyone has their knickers in a wad, is there are simply residents and non residents. Tourists are non residents. Tourists can enter the national territory either with a visa or without depending on the DR's relationship with the country of origin. Then there is the classification of legal vs non legal status. Who cares if it's a Haitian national or a Floridian? Whatever the workaround is after 15 or 30 days for let's say Floridian (because a Haitian doesn't get a tourist card), they default to illegal status after the period of said addendum you find posted in the airport. Whether you are legal before or after you pay and come back again really hasnt mattered.

Until now. Who cares if you overstay? No one really, except now. If you don't have assets on the ground or family, and I don't mean a gf or a western union Mami, then carry on. If they send you packing I'm sure you can go to Mexico. Are your assets at risk? We'll soon be finding out.

'Actually, Mr. Webster is correct in regards to his previous assertion, so I once again do not grasp your laughs at what he stated. These systems have been computerized, transferred, and are accessible within a database to any RD government organization that needs this information at the snap, or tap of a finger, for a very long time now.
In this regards, yes they are in touch with 2020 technology. If only the electrical grid could work as well.
If you do not believe as such, I suggest you attempt a trip abroad (other than Boca Chica), and see what happens when you wish to return.

The one and only time I paid the overstay fee at the airport, the official pocketed the money. Pretty sure the computer wasn't informed about that exit.
