I tried to eat there, but saw nothing on the menu that appealed. What is it that people are raving about?

. . . Sosua is definitely a unique and charming small city with many great attributes. . . .
. . . Sosua definitely has something special and I hope that it can negotiate the twists and turns to maintain that uniqueness and even market it effectively. It's an experience for potential tourists looking for more than the all inclusive experience, and it certainly stands alone. I don't know of another place like it. . . .
Even though they are providing exclusive private areas with resort services included on both Sos?a and Cabarete beaches,
Which beaches are these? Do the guests use the facilities of another hotel?
Playa Sos?a and Playa Cabarete. AHNVEE will have a private area on each of those beaches exclusively for their guests.
I guess it doesn't matter if that private area is illegal or not, it is the DR.*
The part that will be "private", will be the structures where hotel services and amenities will be provided, as well as lounge chairs, tables, umbrellas, etc.
They certainly will not be doing anything illegal. They have more "eyes" watching their every move than you could imagine.

AND . . . not a peep from the usual complainers.
...like I said before...it is scepticism. You see it as complaining....so be it.
I'm skeptical as hell...hope they prove me wrong.
Last Friday, Oct. 21, Pedro Clisante was once again closed to vehicular traffic in the evening and a jazz band was performing on the western end. Several vendors set up tables along the sides of the street near the stage and many restaurants set up their chairs and tables in the street as well.

You and me both. *The concept makes zero sense to me. Where else has this been tried and shown to work?*
The closing of Pedro Clisante for musical events and entertainment is certainly a good thing. *
+1 for closing of the Pedro Clisente, but Jazz music... not a fan - it's not a popular music, why does it get so much airtime (two nights so far with one more of some sort of activity to come next month !).
I was not there, but was it actually jazz? *
