I had a camel toe last night. Hahahaha, you girls just don't get it.
Anyway, whats this camila and camel toe business has to do with aggressive amet cops?
By the way, they are on the street corners blocking roads and pulling off motocycle riders without helmet and giving out tickets to trucks with traffic violations. Seems like this is the norm for now. wait till 3rd of august, things will become seriously ugly for folks who have not renewed their revista and placa stickers.

Leave it to a woman to complicate a simple thing like cameltoe.

Back to amet.
They are running a tight show in santiago and in other major cities. They are seen all over major intersections giving out tickets to anyone who is violating the traffic law. this makes driving carelessly a bit difficult. Now I am unable to cross red lights as frequently as before. I miss scaring off the motoconchos in tight streets. what is really interesting is that conchos are being stopped regularly and given out tickets for arcane reasons. Hahahahaha.
Anyway, its really not all as bad as it sounds. After 10pm, the streets belong to tigres again. We cross red light at will and violate all kinds of traffic and moral laws. Hahahaha.

What happens when you don't pay the ticket and you have multiple copies of your drivers license to hand over whenever you are stopped?
Do they keep track??

Last weekend I was driving from Santiago to POP, near Maimon, some policemen at the side of the road standing next to their car (not AMET but regular beat up white/blue) pointed what looked like a radar gun at my car.

As I was speeding they waived at me to stop.

Of course I didn't since they were not gonna catch me in that beat up car anyway.

So was that really a radar gun? Didnt think they had those here.

Same thing going on here in the Capital (that would be Santo Domingo for the uninitiated out there).

The corner of Maximo Gomez and 27 de febrero, avoid it. They were ticketing cars and stacking the pasolas up on a huge grua.

That intersection is always a hot spot for the AMET but usually not to this extreme. It must be the end of the month.

Been through radar 4 times, that I know of, and the first time was 12 years ago, near San pedro de Macoris.
It's not very common, but they do have them, until they find a way to break them.
The last time I got caught was 3 or 4 years ago, approaching Playa Dorada from Sosua.
As they had a Honda 750 as a chase vehicle, I decided to stop.
After admitting that I knew I was speeding, chit chatting with them for awhile, showing them the respect that they deserved, they sent me on my way, without giving me a ticket.

Rocky just gave valuable advice. It does no good to argue, especially with the AMET. That is what most people do. Also, the next time you drive by someone being ticketed, look close. They are almost ALWAYS on their cellphone calling "their important friends". Guess what? The AMET don't care (ask AZB or anyone else).

The last time I was stopped (and yes, I was in the wrong), I was very respectful to the officer and told him he was right and I was sorry. He spoke a few words of english which I complimented him on (*** kissing doesn't hurt). I got him small talking (in Spanish and English) and after a few minutes he let me go. This will not always happen but it will NEVER happen if you have an attitude and start mouthing off about all of your important friends. They don't care.

PS: They looooove to be called "Comandante"...give it a try. :)
