I completely understand what you mean. However is it only on him to make it happen? Long gone are the times where the King's words were considered law. Even though I have no doubt in my mind that he'd want this finished as soon as possible, it's not only up to him. In the end he has to convince a lot of other people that this is important enough that it has to be done before a certain date. You are wrong, the bridge Will be complete by June 2023, I see President Luis Abinader conducting that grand opening ceremony just before next presidential elections.

Still would make that betI suspect he meant 2024, right before election
I suspect it won't take long. They'll ask how much the owner wants, then they'll tell the owner how much they're going to pay via imminent domain, and come to an agreement pretty quick. It isn't a rumor that the land needed is in dispute. Government officials are speaking to the people that own the land.
No idea when or if they will agree.
Yes. My reason for my conclusion is that if the authorities (be it local or national) would be REALLY interested in making this quick, they would not have spent so much time and money on building a "1st class" road with the alternate route. Currently the only actually annoying part of the road is when entering/leaving Montellano where the road is just too narrow for heavy traffic. But it wouldn't surprise me if they decide that another option is even cheaper/easier than having to make a just offer that the residence will accept. And also I just know too many stubborn Dominicans that it doesn't matter how much they get offered, they WON'T leave their home, because it belongs to them. You haven't yet accepted Latin America negotiations.
By the time they negotiate an agreed upon price Rip Van Winkle will have awoken.
Condemnation will piss half of Cangrejo residents off - and that heading into an election year.
Nope it will drag on till we all forget there was a bridge there
Yes that short trip through the commercial district in Montellano is a bottleneck.Yes. Anyhow, however it goes, this is going to be VERY interesting to follow.
Yes, 2024 few days before election day.I suspect he meant 2024, right before election
La Isabela always been a forgotten and isolated town.It took 30 years to replace the bridge in La Isabela because of land claims IIRC.
Where there any negotiations when they built bypass and cut tru hill to make it in record timeSo, no news on the actual negotiations?
Well, I think it's a bit different, as they didn't have to dislodge anybody on that bypass and that's why at part it's very narrow.Where there any negotiations when they built bypass and cut tru hill to make it in record time![]()
The local news reported on these negotiations but did not state any outcome.Where there any negotiations when they built bypass and cut tru hill to make it in record time![]()
Didn't they carve through a hill to make part of the bypass..somebody's property?Well, I think it's a bit different, as they didn't have to dislodge anybody on that bypass and that's why at part it's very narrow.
Follow tru with local news is spotty at best 👌 even National..The local news reported on these negotiations but did not state any outcome.
I was trying to find out if a decision has been made.
They definitely carved through a big chunk of a hill on that detour. It has to be someone's property.Didn't they carve through a hill to make part of the bypass..somebody's property?
