No doubt this virus is serious and some more has to be done. More protocols especially social distancing and more higiene but closing everything down I really don’t think is the answer. We have to live with this virus. If they close from 8 pm and have a curfew that could be solution and then leaving business open during the day.

Curfews won't affect the AI's and that's where most of the tourist revenue comes from. Tourist revenue in Cabarete and Sosua is a drop in the bucket.
Not for the owners of hotels, airbnbs and any rental real estate in Cabarete and Sosua.

Save your powder. A watershed of BK properties and desperate sellers is on the near horizon depending on what you are looking for.

There are a lot worse places to be in the world right now and you still need to wear all the protection. I can be walking the beach of the Caribbean Sea or I can be in a urban city. I can play golf with no one else on the course or be shut out of golf altogether. I can go on but why waste my time with your sense of humor. Have a good day.
Johneyboy, anyway you can hop off my junk🤣 I mean I am flattered that you comment negatively on every post I make but probably a good time...to hop off. Your legs are prolly numb by now😂

Are the staff getting paid now at the resorts are closed?
It depends on the owner and if employees are on suspension. Suspension is a legal term here which actually protects employee rights which are very strong in the DR.

Typically the owner can pay 50% of the salary and the government pays the other 50%.

It depends on the status of the employee and what the owner has done. Its semi-complicated and deciphered by legalease interpreted by a Dominican attorney and accountant.

Of course it will be bad for them. I really for sorry for them. Kahuna Bar has already closed permanently. I don't know how the others can possibly make it(?).

The DR has been through worse and it survived. The wasted centuries of DR decline from the 18th century to the Haitian occupation and ethnic cleansings of the 19th century, the DR survived. It shall rise again.

This cannot be contained. The latest scientific information states that immunity is not achieved. Antibodies degrade within weeks or months thus a vaccine will do nothing.

Here's an idea. There's many vacant rooms on these properties. Have the staff live there temporarily which will reduce the chances of infection. It would kind of be like the NBA bubble.

For those not aware, large amounts of AI employees already "reside" in out of sight lodgings during their 15 day shifts, followed by 3 days "off" where they return to their proper homes, only to return for the next 15 day cycle.
Life is as such for most AI employees.

This is another plagiarized article that dominicantoday stole from listen diario. Tts evident that the government is lying to their citizens
but theyre not buying as 1000s responded to this and called them liars. As if they dont have friends and family who told them the process of getting through these airports.

What im saying is that the employees should be covid tested and stay on the resort for the 45 day SOE period. Almost like cruise workers. If you really want to create a safe environment for tourists during the SOE they should never leave the resort. It would be tough but these foreign companies should compensate them for their sacrifices. It would still be far less than any american wage they pay.

Sad to see Victor Victor pass, but more details should be provided to present a more accurate interpretation of the situation.
He was 71 years old.
He was a four time heart bypass patient.
He was a diabetic.
He was considered to be obese.

Who is protecting the employees from the tourists who are rotating in or out? Never mind the AI's, there are a few foreigners residing within the "Everything ________" communities who I have no interest in sharing space with.

Right Caonabo. I think I know what you are saying here. That is part of my concern with going to the Playa I was planning to go to anytime soon. I call them the “freedom fighters”.
