The fuses were blowing because high voltage lines were run under ground. Those lines had cracks in their insulation and when they got wet they shorted out blowing the fuse . The fuses are not the problem, they are the protection for the cables down the line shorting out. That is where the focus should be in finding out what is causing the shorts and then blowing the fuses.

There is supposed to be outages Friday, Saturday and Sunday as they are changing a transformer in Santiago.
A new autotransformer is being installed which should provide better voltage regulation for the north coast.
So far now power outages today for circuit CABT102 in Cabarete.
Power outage coming for lots of people tomorrow Saturday Mar. 12. The notice I was sent by Edenorte said 09:00 am to 12:00 am. Which I am hoping was just a typo. A 15 hour outage would enrage many. The notice on the edenorte site seems to suggest the work will take 3 hours or so. We'll see.

Same timing as CABT102 as well. Edenorte said it was all of the POP region and didn't know when power would be back on.
If they don't know, nobody does.
Power has been on in El Batey all weekend. We had a 10 minute glitch on Friday, but nothing major.
I was out for 3 hours yesterday. Yay! Ede's time estimate despite the typo was accurate. Out again overnight from 02:00 to a bit before 04:00. Out for a few minutes again this morning around 09:50. Me thinks it's going to be one of those days...
