Sounds like some diversity training might be a good idea.

Lets toss in some anti gay nonsense here.
Has a lot to do with "how to stop femicides in the DR.
Here is a bit of news for you.
People have the right to be whatever they choose and with whoever they choose.
A tad intolerant, eh

So Zoomy, whats your solution now that you have shit canned everyone else's view???
Not everyone's , just the intolerant and simple minded real men who come on here spouting silly nonsense.
If you have no idea of what my views are you are not reading.
I doubt the DR is ready to get real about treatment of women and women's rights past putting up billboards with meaningless slogans about stopping the violence.
If you look at countries that have drastically reduced violence against women its not all that hard if you are honest about taking the strong measures that are required".
The DR is a male dominated society and its not changing anytime soon.
As more women enter politics it may change but it will be a slow process for second class citizens to win equality.

It is not just a barrio thing, this attitude towards women is prevalent at all levels of society and all too often is fueled by drugs and alcohol.

Promiscuity, mixed with drugs, alcohol and vile culture generate predictable results. There is no solution to this, backwards people do backwards things. We need to step away from the pervasive influence of American hood culture and learn from better more successful cultures.
Policies make change. So far, government policy has not made meaningful, modern change around this issue.
Ask yourself why that is.

Abinader can try. He can put a few people in power who have the right moral standpoint. But there remains those officials who have sailed this political ship in circles for decades. They know it’s wrong, but they either believe women deserve it, they are complicit, or don’t actually even care. They’re eating their cake.

Varying degrees of this attitude permeate even the wealthiest families. The tigueres aren’t the only ones abusing women. This is normalized within the upper echelons of Dominican society too. Women normalize it. Why is the country not too far off from places like Yemen when it comes to this problem? Big money just makes the problem more hush hush.

This topic makes my blood boil and I think of dear Lindsay. The men that do this should rot in hell. Set a precedent.
I am no expert on politics in the DR but I think that it is mostly men making the rules.
Tough to make changes in that atmosphere.

exactly what type of harsh punishments?
Beat them then send them to school?
As someone who hangs around a school you ought to know that harsh punishment never works and in fact encourages violence.
bob, this is 2020, time to catch up.

Were you beaten as a child?
Harsh punishment like listening you talk for a couple of days would probably work Please, make him stop, I will do anything, just please make him stop. Yes this is 2020 where much of the world has lost moral focus and lives by whatever code they see on Netflix. My mother fit the punishment to the behavior and with four other sons and two daughters as well to discipline she had plenty of experience, also the punishment was always deserved.

[Personal attack and response to personal attack deleted by mod]

Staying on topic; when there is violent abuse of women in the family it is not only the female that is victimized.
The male children are brought up seeing that violence against women is accepted behavior.
Male children of wife beaters do not mature with healthy attitudes towards women and often grow up to be "just like dad".

Perphaps they should take a serious look starting "post" relationship counceling centers for these man childs.
This makes more sense as a joke.
Are you aware this is about the Dominican Republic?
Counseling for what?
You think the children who are products of abusive relationships think "they" have a problem.
I had no idea this was about the Dominican Republic. Thanks for pointing it out.
Counseling for "post" relationships (I wrote it in English) and I wasn't joking or trying to be funny.
Do I think the children who are products of abusive relationships think "they" have a problem?
Nope. Nor did I attempt to suggest such a thing.
Getting started a little early today aren't we?

Cultural drama and novellas, the root of the evil.
Children need "a real man" ( like you eh)
And its the moms fault for "encouraging promiscuity???
Hmmm. Women being beaten by the men in their lives because they are promiscuous.
Is that what happened to you, women were promiscuous?

What world do you live in where women are not free to choose?
We have posters here who brag incessantly about their promiscuity, "being real men"
Women are free to choose any behavior they like that is legal and does not hurt others.

Look up the word anachronism.
This is 2020 and women have rights equal to you.
No one's above ass whoopin and honestly,
some days I can think of a few people who deserve one.
Are we done now?

Another victim of harsh punishment as a child surfaces.

Come on Bob, this is crazy talk.
The world has not lost moral focus. Your pronouncements on morality are staggering.
Are you now the self appointed judge of the the worlds' moral focus.
You watch a lot of Netflix, eh.

As some sort of a hang around a school educator you ought to know that harsh punishment is ineffective other than it teaches children violence as a solution.
You are living in the dark ages as regards child psychology.
Effective healthy parenting is never done with violence.
You hit your kids too, eh.

That's how it goes as one generation teaches another and the mistakes are repeated.
You come on here during a discussion about ending violence against women advocating violence against children.
A bit ironic, eh Bob.

"Spare the rod and spoil the child" is alive and well helping improve moral focus world wide one child at a time.
