why above complicating process debate?
the site, in English, is easy to read and does not mention any of above written "double paying fees" or such thing.
it shows in short easy words:
extention of the tourist card for 30-90 days, 2.500.-Pesos
extention 90-120 days, 4.000.- Pesos
zero mentioning of paying any overstay fee again up on departure.
THIS IS the overstay fee, but paid before your first 30 days expired, before your Immigrations Status would turn to illegal.
so the advantage is that you stay a legal Immigrant/Tourist for all the time frame of your stay, no expiring of a med insurance due illegality, no hassle to py any fee at the airport when leaving etc etc.
whats the fuss all about?
such thing could not be managed more easy and more clear, and it is not in Spanish, but in English, the language most visitors are capable to understand.
Authorize foreigners interested in prolonging their stay in the Dominican Republic for more than 30, through an extension that can be extended up to 120 days.
