They still can't get folks to weigh their produce before checking out. It's been 25 years of that
Sam's near my mom now only has 2 cashier lines, the rest are all self-check out.I absolutely agree. The only exception is Sam’s Club, they have a wonderful app. You scan each item as you put it in your cart, hit “checkout “ button, and walk out the door.
You do realize the checkout station has a built-in scale, right? They still can't get folks to weigh their produce before checking out. It's been 25 years of that
I think you missed my point papiYou do realize the checkout station has a built-in scale, right?
I was thinking that, what is the electronic mechanism for deactivating an alarm response from an unscanned and/or unpaid item? Or will it still be the guy with the red pen at the door who probably can't even read the receiptI can't wait to see the "shrinkage" at these stores. The scan will be one for you, one for me..............
If I had a cart full of items and there was no cashier I would call over someone working and tell him he can either scan the items and bag them for me or take the cart and put the items back as I walk out of the store............................If I wanted a job I would have applied for one...........Self-checkout was/is good for those who just have a few items but when you have a cart full of items then it becomes a pain.
Here's a common scenario: customer goes to scan an item and the computer asks customer to rescan. Then the computer says it can't reference the item so now the customer has to look through a list of codes to find the item. Now customer can't figure out how to manually enter the code. 10 Dominicans are in line behind customer. Smoke starts coming out of the computer.Self-checkout was/is good for those who just have a few items but when you have a cart full of items then it becomes a pain.
...and the Dominicans that can't read Spanish....There will definitely be a learning curve at Sirena, plus all the expats who can’t read Spanish instructions. The retirees are also another story, old dogs/new tricks, etc.
You mean like the ones at Paso Rapido? 🤣...and the Dominicans that can't read Spanish....
After 2 days of utter chaos they will switch off the thing and tell you "no hay sistema".Here's a common scenario: customer goes to scan an item and the computer asks customer to rescan. Exactly, and the other 10 million. You mean like the ones at Paso Rapido? 🤣
With Christmas just around the corner/ Black Friday....Imagine yourself sitting at a terrace with a view of this Auto Checkout late in the afternoon on the 15/30 of the month....
You obviously have not been in Super Pola in Sosua.I would hate to see it on the 15th/30th. It would be a crowded mess.
I have not had bad experiences with checkers in Bravo, Sirena, or Jumbo. They all seem competent to me. Also they respond to a smile!
