Have you every walk the Beach between sunrise and 9am?
There are at least 50 different people raking their area of the beach, under the tree canopy.

If the All Inclusive or Condos take over the Beach.... they are not going to rake the leaves.
Guarantied... they will cut 80% to 100% of the trees near the beach.

So... the view from the new Plaza will not be obstructed by trees... the trees will ALL be cut down.

Nope , not one time have I seen that.

That is NOT going to happen. Why do people keeping posting such things? It is not happening. The beach will remain public. As for the raking? Only the shadow knows on that.

Perhaps true. but there might never be a view from a finished plaza since there is NO progress in building them.
The traffic going by the beach is , however, VERY bad these days. Maybe the constructions workers can't get there so they just gave up working on them. Just a guess.

I do early morning walks on the beach (6-8 AM) before the creepcammers show up and I have seen this. May be not 50 people but the shack owners/workers always cleaning the area before their shacks before opening up. Its only a few at 6ish but then the number tends to go up. The Charamicos end did not have as many active shacks but definitely on the El Batey said people do this.

At the current pace, nothing will change from what it is today.

Take a look again at the pic in post #1683. There plaza only has a short stretch of beach where the trees may, or may not be, be cut down. I wouldn't be surprised if the trees alongside the plaza will be left there so that the condo owners won't be able to see that monstrosity.

I will defer to the guy who is out there actually witnessing it happen before the guy who has readily admitted that he has barely even been to that beach in the past 20 years.

While Dominicans are not known for cleaning up after themselves I do know someone is cleaning up that beach area and I have seen them doing it as well.

Oh, I completely agree that people that go there know what is happening.

Then they tried to predict the future. And I don't think anyone can do that.

I've seen a few videos from this real estate team called DR Property Guys, the overweight one did a walk through town a couple of weeks ago, at the end he went into the so called plazas for a look around.

I managed to watch this now. I think this is Tay (Danny used to give a shoutout to them in his videos and I believe he bought his house via them) says 'seven story condos, highly unlikely. Dont believe everything you read on the internet' :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I disagree.
I walked down the beach Tuesday morning around 8am from Charamicos over to Batey. No one has cleaned up anything on the Charamicos side. All of the debris from the deconstruction of those casitas a few months ago have yet to be touched/ removed and it will eventually end up in the bay if not taken care of...
not to mention the infestation of rats that love to nest in that type of environment.

I did see a about half a dozen people at different businesses raking the sand in front of their establishments same as they've been doing every morning since day one but thats normal.

I think the point @aname4me was making is that the shack owners and the chair/umbrella rental folks kept the beach clean (mostly)

Once they are gone, there will be no one to clean, as is evident by the neglect on the Charamicos side. The government demolished the shacks but they clearly have not cleared out the debris. If and when AIs or condos are built, they are not going to be cleaning the beach because they will cut down the trees. Less trees = less chances of damage in a storm/hurricane + less maintenance + clearer views (from POV of condos/AIs)

LOL

Not the responsibility of the business people to clean up the debris that was torn down. That should have been taken care of by whoever was hired to tear down the casitas but alas that's just more evidence of how half assed things are done there and if the government and/or department of tourism really cared they would have addressed it already.

This thread will probably still be talking about the same old stuff 10 years from now except we will be talking about how terrible the half done plazas look and if they will ever be completed.

Maybe in 10 years the talk will be about the trick to get building ground and permits to build failing plaza’s only to get them bulldozed and build a whole lot of condos. Who knows..
