So the govt support sex ring now? I see
Uh, no. It is about trying to get the hookers out of sight. The government has tried various things in the past that simply didn't work.

I am not expecting this to work, either, but with the man in charge of Sosua having a financial interest in the outcome, that might change.

David finally gave in to Willy ?
And Willy's good mate Orlando, along with the owner who has the Cabana Laguna Nova which is an 8 iron away from David's complex . When you see the road paved on the southern side of the complex, then the 3 conductors for the R.L.D. will be in full force.

Just a question , if you move your trash from point A to point B, does it magically lose the smell when it is out of sight? .

Blue Collar Town in New Jersey
This has been discussed for years. The Sosua town council even passed new zoning regulations before Willy was elected. The plan was to move the businesses that support prostitution to the east end of town. Willy refused to enforce the new zoning rules. But, the new entertainment center in front of Politur, has been making improvements. Do they know something?
That Guy has massive balls , said that all along..
He will either completely corner the Market at some point, or he will go broke.
It will be interesting to watch what happens with respect to this Red Light district Zoning .

It's still an ugly reality for Sosua (IMO), but I'd much rather see even a "little" proximity between a RLD and the more marketable parts of Sosua. Give the beach a couple block perimeter from the chicas. Having the trash in the back yard is better than having it on the front porch.

report from me 6 weeks ago: the town is bustling with Chicas and clients. The entire town and every restaurant.
I think your reports lack creds police have been busting the girls again and putting them in jail , numbers way down… even jet blue cut trips from last yr. Bailee’s unfortunately is hiding spot for now.

On a point of order, I think that while prostitution is illegal, there are laws about soliciting in public. So if a girl / man is hustling in the street the police have powers to arrest them.

We were saying the other day that when I first came here there were so many sex clubs in Santo Domingo but now they've pretty much all closed down. Everything seems to have moved online, far cheaper / safer for the girls. Sosua seem to be the exception. I can't think of anywhere else in DR where there are clubs with chicas.

Wrong . I said the government wants them out of sight and out of mind. Never said what you said above. Not once.

That move would go a long way to putting the trash in a dump where the government would like it to be.
It is still trash, but out of sight from the west end of Pedro Clistante. I am sure the government would like that outcome.
What is stopping the paving of the road that would complete this scheme?

Prostitution one client on one provider is not illegal. I doubt the police should be arresting hookers who are making one on one deals in the street, but they probably do. I have never heard of the laws about it being illegal on a public street and we have been all up and down this topic forever.

Are they low tech in Sosua? Interesting that Sosua is the last bastion of that kind of club. Going on line would solve most of the issues the government has.

Wrong!! You have been disparaging and advocating for the removal of the chicas for years. You have also said a Ritz Carlton is coming to Cab. and high end hotels are coming to Sosua. Welcome back, we miss your bizarre political views.

Thanks for the welcome. Please find one post where I said I personally wanted the whores and whormongers moved? You won't find one.

I always stated it was the government that wanted that. So, you are wrong.

They're all over, Maria. Did you see the latest raid in Punta Cana? I'm betting there's more in SD than you may realize.

It's possible that this could clean up the whole scene - remove any minors, created education points for non profits to operate, have easy access to STI testing, - and (if possible) make it an even bigger destination.
The only way they can really change/ clean up Sosua is to permanently close down all of the hotels, bars and clubs these sex tourist frequent (which is not going to happen) when they fly down.
Trying to create a red light district won't make a difference.

So long as those non profits are educating and not indoctrinating Dominican children, I'm all for it

Blue Collar Town in New Jersey
I never understood why Some Bars where people hang out to Drink, eat and socialize are Targeted for " promoting Prostitution"
Some were even shut down completely , under the Fake guise of " underage drinking" , and some the Owners were run out of town.. and Im not talking about Sex Clubs, but just Bars .

and then OTOH.. Hotels , where the actual ACT and exchange of Money actually takes place . .NO actions have ever been taken against Hotel Owners.
At most they were perhaps told to not let the girls hang out around the Pool ,etc.
This has never made any sense .
