I imagine,Lucifer, that they are happy also in not knowing you.
For the life of me, I just DO NOT understand these Dominican people.
I think we should all reFudiate their lack of table manners, as well as their lack of fashion sense and musical taste.
Now, please don't get me wrong. I don't want to be misunderestimated: I like the Dominican... the country, that is.
But you can't hide the fact that not only are they NOT BURPING, FARTING, AND BELCHING at the dinner table; they are also so many years behind on the latest Sears catalog offerings and Grand Ole Opry performances.
I mean, where can I purchase the latest Sans-a-belt and leisure suits?
And what about that God-awful bachata?
You reckon they've never heard of the latest Lawrence Welk tune over yonder?
I TELL YOU WHAT... The Dominican is a nice place to visit and whatnot, but I'm happy knowing as fewest Dominicans as possible.
Who in the hell is Lawrence Welk???
LOL. Kipling333 Lucifer is Dominican. Bit of tongue in post by him.
Dont want to go off topic.
Google him. He had a variety show in the 70's.................
In the other hand....my Dominican wife has always complain about Gringo's manners of not saying "Good Morning" or "Good Afternoon" when they enter a room with other people around (Doctor's office, etc.). For her it is a lack of education on their part!!!
i have said this a hundred times. expats never acknowledge the presence of anyone who was there before them. if they walk into a room full of people, they never say hello, but just either walk through, or take a seat. to some, myself included, that is a display of bad manners.
Now, before y'all go gettin all wrapped around the axle, please understand that this is not an indictment against all Dominicans. I'm simply speaking of the ones generally come into contact with.
Ex; gf will say, "send me photos of xyx". And I'll shut her down with a "no". She will ask why, and I explain that its because she didn't ask properly (not the first time). "but I asked you to send me the photos correctly". At that point, I simply move onto another subject, and in true dominican fashion the issue of the photos is quickly forgotten.
It is a cultural thing that the words please and thank you are virtually non-existent, or am I missing the mark altogether? Call me an a-hole, but this chaps my ass like not much can.
It is a quasi failed state with very little functioning public infrastructure, 90 % of people even at the highest echelons of society come from non functioning families. Is there any wonder as to why people are insular and have no interest of the well being of others ?
Yes and a couple of weeks ago , my brother in law referred to his Mom (My suegra) as VIEJA I told him to apologize and not to talk that way to her, especially in front of my kids, and he looked at me with a tilted head asking why???? when SHE chimed in and said no ,no no , you don't understand...... Its a term of respect and carino ............ go figure............ If i ever called my Mom Old lady or Old one ........... well......it wouldn't be pretty ............

Didn?t realize Lucifer is Dominican, missed that one.
he is. the reason why most people miss it is because the guy is the most mellow, laid back dude in the site. he takes all the slights and insults, and always holds his composure. he never tries to get into people?s faces , with some gangsta crap.
yup..he is Dominican, and cool with it.
The reason I love him, he doesn't take himself seriously or us idiots who post about Doms![]()
