I often generalize and make my point through controversial ripping of people as a whole, but some of you guys are actually serious. People are becoming way too serious on here. I am beginning to see a divide of those who are just passing banter, having a bit crack with each other and those who are far to involved in the topic, way more involved than is healthy and showing obvious insecurities. Some of you are so transparent yet are trying so hard to hide your intense rage it is quite amuzing. I've just noticed a few regulars over the last week or so, but I bet I'm not the only one.

Ok, you arrogant people who always think that Americans are better or smarter. Here's reality... African-American Single Mother Rate is 68%! Latina Single Mother Rate in the U.S. is 43% and 26% of white women are single mothers. 62% of women from 20 to 24 in the United States are single mothers. So get a life and go solve the problems in your own country instead of always acting like we're the only ones with problems. Do we have problems? Yes, and a lot. Do you have problems in your countries? Yes, a lot. What's the difference? You left your problems just to come and criticize ours. Por Dios. Single Motherhood Increases Dramatically For Certain Demographics, Census Bureau Reports

But just cos I am white and post on dr1 doesnt mean I come the good ole US.....( also known as Nueva Yole.....:p ).

If I was back on fr1, I would be complaining about how the € turned everything expensive overnight.......
If I was back on ch1 I would be complaining about banking regulations......
But, no I happen to live in the dr, so I complaining about stuff in the dr........logic, no ???

Also on the poster who, rightfully called out the increase in dominicano/a posters who seem quite angry....... we have a saying in french....
Il n'y a que la v?rit? qui blesse or La bave du vilain crapaud n'atteint pas la blanche colombe

I used the word "legitimate" in the common sense of born inside of wedlock. I posted the requirements for a child born "out of wedlock" and the link in post 146. There is nothing unclear in the US statutes.

The word is unclear because it.is anachronistic. I would say legitimate means recording your name on the birth certificate. What the US govt "may" mean it to marry the mother of the child.
In the DR unlike the US the father has to.declare in.person with 2 witnesses that he is the childs pappy. That seems legitimate to me. IN THE US she can just fill.in the blanks on the application for birth certificate so barring DNA she can any old guy is the pappy.

Nothing wrong with giving a gringo a point of reference, something they can relate to! People tend to ask why this? why that? but it's very likely they have a similar issue, behavior, experience, equivalent, etc, they could relate to. It?s like someone asks "Why Do people mumble Spanish" and you tell them, "It?s like when you say "this or that" in English". Being English the most common language here. No ofense to speakers of other languages.

Not only that, but gringos often give examples of how things are in their respective countries to make their point. It?s only to expect that others will do the same.

About this poster calling out on the "increase of angry Dominican posters", That?s more BS! there is no difference now than before. Plus, this poster has also been referred to as "angry, hatefilled, bored, negative". He?s just trying to call others out in the same way he?s been called out.Understandable, considering his circumstances!

Plus, for many, an angry Dominican poster is just someone who won't put up with their gringo BS!

There was a Supreme Court case on this in 2001 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nguyen_v._INS

" An illegitimate foreign-born child of an American father and an alien mother, on the other hand, is recognized as a U.S. citizen only if a much more complex and stringent set of conditions are met: the father's paternity must be convincingly established prior to the child's 18th birthday, and the father must also agree in writing to provide financial support to the child until he or she reaches age 18.[3]"

this is important only for those US citizen fathers who wish their children who are born here --"outside of marriage" to obtain a US passport and any future SS benefits. It is not enough for their names to be recorded on the birth certificate.

This would.indicate that for Pappies in this situation to.wait until the child.is 16 or 17 before they petition for US citizenship.

Regardless of country, they should make more of an effort to get pregnant teens through high school...

It up to the pregnant teen. There is no impediment put in place by the government, indeed I believe all the new high schools have daycare as well. The quality of the education itself in poor but the government does encourage pregnant or teen mothers to continue to go to school. I see them passing by everyday as I'm monitoring the kids coming into our school. Many of them greet me as they go to their public high school.

I read this somewhere and was wondering what were some of the factors affecting this sad statistic ?

Why is it so prevalent ?

I haven't read all 19 pages so can someone tell me the exact statistic. I figure it is also some low number that when taken out of context makes it seem as if most every young teenage Dominican girl is pregnant or about to be.

I also figure that when taken into context as a percentage of the total young teenage Dominican girl population the actual percent figures are also extremely low. Could be wrong but doubt that. These numbers seem to me to be more sensationalistic than realistic.
