Ninapup,
I think it has all passed Las Terrnas but I am not sure where you are- we think the worst is past for the eastern end of the island and there may be some rain but not much more than that!
I am surprised that Mike cannot reasure you as he is the DR! weather guru.
We are here on th north coast and Irene is passing more offshore than originally forcast so we are pleased.

Thanks Olly. Glad she's to the North in any case. Looked like a direct hit last night.

We're getting some serious rainfall in Punta Cana now, thunder and lightning included. I'm surprised the internet connection is working.

Thank you Mike for the update.
Here in Sosua power finally came back on, wind is blowing but I have no idea how hard with some gusts in it, no rain since a good hour and a half.
Took all dogs in the house and they are set for the night in their cozy crates, better safe then sorry afterwards.
Having a good glass of wine above my keyboard and I am extremely careful not to spill, the wine is to good for that ;)

Still rain on and off and pretty windy in Cabrera.

This image makes it look as if she is just over Cabrera at current. Doesn't feel that way though. Still fairly calm!

the after effects are hefty.
it is still raining in PC, and on it's fullest.
Heaven opened all Doors it seems, with Thunder and Lightning and all the whole 9 Yards.
and the radar does not show any clear spots where it could end.

My friend in Puerto Plata says it's really bad right now....10 mph winds and rain...she's afraid the roof is coming off in the complex she's in.

I hope you stocked up on Lemons and ladies!

I cannot get any more lemons at the moment but I did stock up with plenty of supplies and I would never have any ladies over during a hurricane because if we lost power they would not be able to watch cartoons on TV and I'm not 21 anymore!

the East is still under Thunder and Lightning, wind is quiet hefty here running around 20 Knots constant and blowing far higher Gusts. Ocean is a wild Ground.
nothing new on Irene so far, She seems steady on Her WNW Tracking, close to shore but no Hit.
that aftermath Rainy here looks like it will blow for some more hours to come, Time for a Nap.

stay Safe and Dry everybody

It's been raining so hard here in Bayahibe that it's flooding the tarantula's burrows. I just caught one sneaking in through a thin gap in the screens. He is now safe under a plastic bowl on the terrace. I will free him in the morning :classic:

It has finally started raining in Sosua but the powers spikes are the most concerning of all.

My voltage regulator sounds like a transformer blew yet it continues to work but the most important part is I can eat my Pork Chop and some Bush baked beans and the AC is working so we are good until tomorow

Power is of and on but that was to be expected.
Wind has picked up and is howling now but no rain...strange.

My two big boys did not like it in the house which was to be expected so I send them out again and they took their strategic spots, out of the wind, out of the rain but watching.
