There was a couple of posters yesterday who must not have lived in the Caribbean very long. The President made the right decision and probably gets some good advice. But it is a Tropical Island, keep all business flowing.........Hahaha. Where I am steady dark rain.....
A different story down here by the airport...wet but no flooding. Light drizzly rain, although we did have a 10 minute downpour around 7am. Bavaro floods when a guy pizzes on the side of the road.Absolutely pouring in Punta Cana, Bavaro. You can't see 50 feet in front of you it is so bad. Flooded is not the word. ...............Thunder just started also. But open up all business's.........But at least it got the Motos off the flooded roads.............
Based on Windy.com, I don't think so. I just checked and it shows the storm center a bit north of the southern beaches at 8AM today. At least that's what I'm hoping for.A grey drizzle in La Romana, a bit heavier rain between 6 and 9 this morning, light to no wind at all from Franklin. Perhaps its still coming..
Well, the street flooding of Bavaro is the result of a government not adhering and enforcing its own environmental regulations to allow natural drainage of the lands. Unrestricted development has created dams.A different story down here by the airport...wet but no flooding. Light drizzly rain, although we did have a 10 minute downpour around 7am. It has never taken much rain to fill the streets of Bavaro.
I think the main issue with this storm is the rain and flooding. Not sure if there will be strong winds. It hasn’t arrived in Las Terrenas yet either. This afternoon we will see.No sign of any storm in Cab as yet. Overcast, zero breeze and the stench from the bars on our one dusty road, where a bypass should have gone up years ago.
I'm really hoping for little wind. Rain not so much, but for someone who works remotely, power and internet connectivity are mandatoryI think the main issue with this storm is the rain and flooding. That's lovely Mike, but I'm just a regular working stiff and limited resources. A simple inverter with some generic dominican batteries. Not the puta and palm tree dream, but that's life 🤣then you have to move over here in my 'hood, lol.
Full independend solar power, and this was the first time that I had such nice rough weather and thunder for so many hours last night since I have my Starlink Internet installed, worked like a charm, we watched all last night long Netflix for the wifey and myself gaming on the PS Online, not a single interruption of anything
Relaxing meds?SDE getting a full on hit. Heavy rain. Streets flooding. Some wind. No electric. Dogs got their relaxing meds. Reading a book. All is good. I've seen a lot worse.
most illusive storm to-date. still waiting for rain or even the slightest breeze in Cab. Meanwhile, the common folk are drinking rum, sitting in the plastic chairs at the colmados and listening to Raulin and Anthony Santos while the town is shut down. next up, the Mercedes day celebration, which really just translates as another lost day of workSo where did the eye make landfall??
