Good morning! Getting up and going out into the cool morning air at 76 F is sooo refreshing. :) Water came on during the night so I'm using the street water to fill my pool and cistern. At the rate of flow it should only take about 2 weeks. lol.

Clear sky so full sun again today. Ocean is flat. Most stations forecasting slightly lower temps. with the heat index under 100 F. Chances of rain around 40% for most areas.

Have a good one.

Hi All! The wind shifted from out of the east to the N.W. with 24 mph at around 4 PM? Temps dropped but humidity went up and clouds moved in. POP 10 miles to our west went from clear to haze. Clouds developed and have thickened. The winds have died to a lite breeze have gone to be out of the normal N.E.

Dogs have just run into my office telling me, and I confirm, that thunder can be heard.

Wife says we having AC again tonight.... dang... Heat index got over 100F again.

Thunder ..... I never thought that I'd invite it.

OH.... wife made a lemon meringue pie today. Life is a little better this evening. :)

Yep. Thunder is building and the hopes of some rain with it.

Good morning! Yep, we had rain last evening. I counted at least 4 large drops hitting the leaves on a tree. That was it for us. :(

Looking at the stars at 5:30 this morning, before any sunlight, and seeing the lights bright in POP. Being later, a few scattered high clouds, 73 F, no breeze and seas flat.

Satellite shows some clouds around S.D. and chances of rain from 40% to 60% down there. Overall, it looks like it will continue to be HOT.

The pie was wonderful last night. We have an LPG Whilpool Accubake that has inspired lots of baking since we bought it 3 or 4 of months ago. BAD for my waistline. :( We also have a fancy Meile convection oven, 220 V, that was installed at the same time but has never been used. AC felt great last night, just ask our dogs how much they love it. :) "Out, damned spot! Out, I say!"

So we have had Dunder Dogs and Spot Dogs, that like the AC, in hiding or staring at the AC unit for two hours since the Thunder started to our East moving west toward us and POP. Clouds thick and lot's of promise for rain.... to our east. I think that someone will take all our needed rain before it gets to us. :)

Our map shows some clouds with possible pop-up thunder storms and rain. Ya... Right.

Possible pop-up rain has increased all over. Please let us know what you get.

Good morning. Lightening in the distance over the ocean most of the night. .04 inches of rain on us.

Partly cloudy and flat ocean this AM. Some clouds in some areas with 80% chance of rain in S.D. So expect it to continue being hot with some scattered pop-up thunder storms.

Also, who stole the wind in Puerto Plata ???

Oh. That would be me. I was on my porch looking over at POP and I must have sucked it up cause I'm hot.

Normal that our mornings have very little breeze. 5.4 mph out of the N.E. at my place east of POP. Winds come up later so I'll let you have some then. :)

6:00PM. This "local" cell started forming around 3:30 PM with distant thunder and has been building. Our temps up here have dropped from 85F to 77 F. So far I have only .04 of an inch of rain. (I'll bet someone else got MORE.) No wind. Looking out over the Atlantic Ocean it is almost out of a Steven King book.

South looks like it is still hot.

I think that this link updates so you will not see what I'm posting about. Be sure to click on the weather stations thing to see your local conditions.

Ringo - Started here about 6:15 pm with light rian but really heavy thunder and lightning - many with almost instant sound and light!
So right on top of us - I bet Lomas Mironas and El Choco have some hits just looking at the lightning around us. Some out to sea but what a show. Rainfall only moderate at present.

Nice cloudy and cool morning! 1.43 inches of rain last night and we collected over 5,000 gallons of water off our roof into the cistern that is up to the overflow pipe.

Here in Playa Chiquita this AM: 72 F, 2.2 mph breeze from the south, mostly cloudy and the ocean is flat.

The system coming up from the S.W. should provide the western side of the D.R. with more clouds, cooler temps and more pop-up T-storms for a couple of days.
